Chapter 217 - So, you lost!?

Chapter 217 - So, you lost!?

In a dark corner of the world.

Four people stood waiting in the darkness. One of them held a sword exuding a sacred aura, using it to cut through the space in front of him, creating a circular passage.

A moment later, a figure in silver-white armor walked out of the portal.

"Vali, you're back much earlier than expected."

The speaker was a blond man who looked like a perfect gentleman. He held a holy sword radiating a sacrosanct breath. Once Vali stepped out, the man sheathed the blade at his waist, and the circular passage vanished.

If members of the Church had been present, they would have recognized the weapon as the Excalibur Ruler, one of the seven lost Excaliburs.

It was by using its power to dominate space, combined with teleportation techniques, that Vali was able to leave so easily in front of the leaders of the three factions.

The man's name was Arthur Pendragon, a descendant of the legendary King Arthur.

"Vali!"

Another person, a woman wearing a revealing kimono and exuding an amazing charm, spoke in a lazy tone. "Vali, you seem to be in a very bad mood. Did you suffer a loss at the tripartite summit?"

If Koneko were here, she would have recognized the woman instantly. She was Koneko's older sister, Kuroka.

As a Nekomata, Kuroka was extremely sensitive to the flow of aura around a person. Even though Vali was encased in his silver armor, she could sense the turbulence in his atmosphere.

"Did you lose to the Sekiryuutei?"

Another man approached Vali curiously. He wore red armor and a tight, hoop-like headband on his head, his face twisted into a mischievous grin. He was Bikou, the descendant of the Sun Wukong, the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

"No. There were some complications, and I didn't get to have a formal fight with him," Vali shook his head.

"I see! No wonder you're in a bad mood!" Bikou chuckled, assuming Vali was simply frustrated at missing a chance to fight his fated rival.

"Vali, what about that Red Dragon Emperor? Is he... special?" Kuroka asked playfully.

"I won't lose to him," Vali said in a low, determined voice.

"Oh?" Bikou looked at Vali in surprise.

I won't lose to him. The phrasing was unusual for Vali. It implied that the Sekiryuutei was at least on par with him, or perhaps even slightly ahead.

"Speaking of which, if the Sekiryuutei and I could have a child, wouldn't it be incredibly powerful?" Kuroka licked her lips, her eyes full of flirtatious intent. However, the men present were all socially dense warriors who showed absolutely no interest in her advances.

"Kuroka-neesama, are you eyeing the Sekiryuutei now?"

A crisp, youthful voice rang out. A girl of about fourteen or fifteen, wearing a witch's outfit and a pointed hat, looked up. Her features were strikingly similar to Arthur's. Her name was Le Fay Pendragon, Arthur's younger sister.

"It is the tradition of the Nekomata to breed excellent offspring with powerful males," Kuroka said without a hint of shyness.

"Vali, we have plenty of time now. Why don't we go to the Norse Pantheon and stir up some trouble?" Bikou suggested with a grin.

"Let's go," Vali nodded. He felt suffocated after his encounter with Roy and desperately needed a way to vent his frustration.

...

By the time the meeting finally concluded, it was already past nine in the evening.

Since Azazel, Michael, Sirzechs, and Serafall had reached a consensus, the peace treaty itself wasn't the main focus.

Instead, they spent the bulk of the time discussing how to deal with the Khaos Brigade. This organization was the heavy stone weighing on the hearts of everyone who yearned for peace.

If left unchecked, it would trigger a war far more terrible than the Great War of the past.

However, information on the Khaos Brigade was still scarce. Most of what they knew came from Azazel's intelligence. Consequently, they couldn't settle on a definitive plan and decided to prioritize investigation.

After the meeting, the personnel from all sides departed. Kuoh Academy fell silent once more. The buildings and grounds looked exactly as they had before; it was impossible to tell that this place had just been a battlefield between the alliance and the Khaos Brigade.

Upon returning to his villa, Roy took advantage of his bath time to update his Falna. As he had expected, the experience gained from killing a Maou-class powerhouse even while using his Balance Breaker was enough to push him to the next level.

After the successful rank up, several of his development abilities improved, and he gained new one: Crushing.

Crushing increased the lethality of his attacks, specifically against equipment. At higher levels, it could even shatter an opponent's weapons or armor directly.

At Level 6, Roy felt his raw power had surged. He estimated that even without using Rage or Aeriel, his base strength was now enough to kill Kokabiel easily.

Roy noted with a smile.

One more step, and he would be able to compete with Maou-class powerhouses without even needing his Balance Breaker. Combined with Rage and Aeriel, his combat power was already infinitely close to or even exceeding the veteran Maou level.

"The improvement isn't bad at all," Roy thought, satisfied.

In addition to the rank up, he had gained 70,000 dimensional points from Katerea. Furthermore, Michael had not asked for Ascalon back, meaning the weapon now belonged to him permanently.
