Chapter 254 - Kanata Totokubara's invitation

Chapter 254 - Kanata Totokubara's invitation

As Kanata Totokubara's voice fell, the atmosphere around the three became tense.

"Totokubara-senpai, did you and Roy know each other before?" Ikki quickly asked.

He was very familiar with the Student Council's authority. Because of his experiences over the past year, he was exceptionally cautious in his words and deeds.

He was always worried that a single misstep would violate school rules, giving the administration an excuse to expel him.

The Student Council were the enforcers of these rules. Yet, up until now, he had never personally crossed paths with them.

"Well, we've met once before," Kanata said, her tone unhurried. A faint smile graced the corners of her lips. "I haven't seen you for a few days, Roy. It seems you have also become a member of Hagun Academy."

If one listened closely, there was a trace of surprise in her tone, mixed with a certain expectation.

However, this expectation wasn't necessarily friendly, it felt more like a predatory joyful expectation, carrying the implication of, 'You're finally in my hands.'

"Were you watching the whole time?" Roy raised an eyebrow, asking with a smile.

"I was just passing by and happened to witness your little conflict," Kanata shook her head slightly.

"But Roy, to be able to knock down Shizuya Kirihara so easily... it seems you are much stronger than I imagined."

In addition to being the Rookie King of his class, Kirihara had been one of Hagun Academy's representatives in the previous Seven Star Sword Art Festival.

For Roy to throw him to the ground effortlessly, even factoring in that Kirihara hadn't fully manifested his Device was enough to prove Roy's strength.

Combined with the fact that Roy had previously thwarted a point-blank attempt by the Sword Eater, it was clear this was no coincidence.

"However, even so, random conflicts outside the school that disturb public order are not allowed," Kanata said gracefully, shifting the conversation. "As a member of the Student Council, now that I have seen it, I cannot just let it go."

"Since you saw it, you should know that Kirihara was the one who started it, right?" Roy wasn't worried in the slightest.

"Don't worry. The Student Council will investigate the details of the matter," Kanata maintained a business like attitude. "We won't let Shizuya Kirihara off the hook easily, either."

"As for now, please come with me." Kanata looked at Roy with a smile, her tone leaving no room for refusal.

She glanced at a luxurious car parked a short distance away, gesturing for Roy to follow her.

"Sure," Roy nodded.

He didn't agree because he actually intended to accept any punishment. He agreed because he sensed a massive influx of Dimensional Points waiting for him at the Council.

While the other members of the council didn't have massive roles in the overarching plot, there was one true heavyweight: the Student Council President, Touka Todou.

She was Ikki's final opponent in the Hagun Academy selection matches. As the undisputed No. 1 student knight in the academy and a Top 4 semi-finalist in the previous Seven Star Sword Art Festival, she was essentially the final boss of the school arc.

Touka Todou would undoubtedly yield a massive amount of Dimensional Points. Counting the rest of the council, Roy estimated he could get at least 100,000 points in one trip.

"Roy!" Ikki looked at him nervously, his face full of self-blame.

If it weren't for him, Roy wouldn't have clashed with Kirihara and wouldn't be targeted by the Student Council.

"Relax, it's a written apology at most. That look on your face makes it seem like I'm heading to the execution grounds," Roy joked, sighing at Ikki reaction.

"Uh..." Ikki smiled awkwardly, his tense expression finally easing. He breathed a sigh of relief.

He couldn't help it. He had lived too cautiously at Hagun Academy this past year.

Seeing Roy held accountable by the Student Council made his anxiety spike. But Roy's joke brought him back to reality.

Roy was highly valued by Chairwoman Kurono, and during the altercation, neither side had actually used a Device.

At worst, it was just a regular student brawl. There wouldn't be any severe punishment.

"I'll just go with Totokubara for a bit. You head back to the dorms first," Roy waved his hand and followed Kanata to her car.

Roy opened the rear door and slid into the back seat as naturally as if he owned it.

Kanata paused by the rear door for a moment, then silently opened the passenger seat door and sat in the front.

The car was driven by a dedicated female chauffeur. The interior was incredibly luxurious.

"Sure enough, you're a top tier rich woman," Roy muttered.

Although he didn't recognize the exact brand, the exterior, the lavish interior, and the highly auspicious license plate number screamed money.

She wasn't just wealthy, she was the true daughter of the massive Totokubara conglomerate.

Hearing Roy's comment, the corner of Kanata's mouth twitched slightly. She was a refined young lady, but from Roy's lips, she sounded like an eccentric old billionaire.

Though, to be fair, she was extraordinarily wealthy.

"This isn't the way back to Hagun Academy, is it?" Roy asked, glancing out the window as the car began to move. He finally understood why Kanata hadn't offered Ikki a ride back.

"Mm," Kanata nodded slightly. "It's still the holidays. The members of our council don't stay on campus the entire time."

Ten minutes later, the vehicle arrived at its destination.

"An orphanage?" Roy muttered, glancing at the sign above the front gate as he stepped out of the car.
