Irenes past ch68
When both Lucas and shinya opened their eyes once again a wave of nausea falled upon them once again.
As the feeling of nausea piled up as they knew they were once again inside of someone else's mind. It was a weird yet exorbitant type of feeling something hard to describe, even though it was the second time it happened to Shinya.
"Holy fuck dude what the hell is this type of feeling I just experienced did you experience that when you went inside of my mind as well?" Said Lucas nearly on his knees as he looked behind him, seeing Shinya standing around.
Shinya, not even commenting on what Lucas said, he began to look around at what was around him.
It was a completely different environment compared to before. He heard the sound of metal gears turning in the distance. With even a clock tower in sight, he realized where he was now.
Strangely enough, he was on a farm like a farm from his world but with several additions of things further intensifying the fact that they were in the steampunk world.
Walking around, they saw several animals like pig stables and horses in a barn. Though there was no sign of Irene. Just for them to see a small girl in the corner of the barn with a completely bruised face.
She seemed completely struck with fear and hostility in the looks of her eyes.
It was hard for Shinya to even look at her as just the aura around her seemed like it told people to fuck off.
Looking closer, Shinya and Lucas noticed the tattered and dirty clothes she was wearing it was clear that wherever they were that Irene was not receiving the right amount of support in any way of shape or form.
Calling out to the girl, Shinya held his hand out just for the girl to push it away.
She was aware.
Aware that they indeed were here Afterall so thought before that Shinya was inside their mind and couldn't see them probably wasn't true Lucas probably just didn't acknowledge the ghost like figure Shinya seemed to be. Looking back at Lucas for a second, he realized that that was probably true knowing Lucas's character.
Shinya and Lucas began to ponder just how they could convince the girl to come with them. Then the thought came to them.
"Would you like to see the city with us?" Said Shinya extended his hand out to the girl.
With a face of confusion, surprise and debate in her face she wondered and pondered for a moment. Just for her to began to extend her hand out only for a loud voice to come from the complete other side of the barn.
"Oh, Irene come here!!!" Said a large man his distinct characteristics not recognizable as he was too far away.
Suddenly the world around them began to change once again. This time they were in a house in a room with what looked like the younger version of Irene crying.
In front of a mirror with a sharp dagger like a stencil. She was doing something horrible she was cutting on her arms. Making sure it was high enough on her arm that nobody else would see the mark, it was a sad sight to behold.
"Holy fuck so she went through this type of thing." Said Lucas
Shinya, not even having any words of comfort or anything he possibly could say to her, they both could only stand there and watch what was happening.
Though before the long Shinya couldn't take it anymore, he went up to the girl and grabbed the knife. With the girl trying to grab it from him he held onto the blade side of it with it going deeper into his skin he never let go.
This was what she needed; she just needed somebody to help her through whatever she was going through as it was evident there was nobody there.
"Stop it's okay your safe right now Irene were with you" said Shinya to the girl staring directly into the young girl's eyes.
Suddenly everything around, them began to change for a final time as they were inside Irene's mind. It seemed as if they seemed to see everything around them turn black.
Just Irene crouched down over into the corner with tears streaming down her face.
"Irene…." Lucas was the first one to speak as he couldn't utter another single word.
"Just leave me alone I'm better if I don't go with you guys." Said Irene pushing her hand away to tell them both to go away and go on their own.
"I can't do that," said Shinya
Taking a pause for a moment before saying something else.
"You're going with us you're going back to the real world." Said Shinya
"But why? Can't you clearly see I have no future waiting back for me even if I make it out of all of this tournament at all. I have no family that loves me. I have nothing out in that world that could truly help me at all. I don't know why you're trying to persuade me, can't you just see it's better if I swallow myself whole in my own self-pity Shinya." Said Irene, turning back at him, wiping the tears out of her eyes.
"I don't think that at all even if there's nothing out there for you, you have us two. We will keep on fighting and make it out of this hell infused place. I promise Irene, all you need to do is take a chance with us.
"If I take that chance, will it change me and help me? I'm not sure at all, I just don't want to feel this way anymore, that's all." Said Irene as she sat with her feet crossed, staring at the ground.
Before Shinya could say anything, else, Lucas was the first to speak up.
"Your so fucking ungrateful your still alive and plenty of people aren't just fucking grateful and stop being a child and causing a temper tantrum and let's go" said Lucas with a stern mentality and tone in his voice.
"I…. I guess," said Irene now with a little more certainty in her voice.
Surprisingly to Shinya surprise what Lucas had told her could possibly have helped her.
"All you need to do is take a chance with us I promise we won't betray you we are not the previous people in your life you can create your own future with us." Said Shinya reaching out his hand.
With Irene hesitantly sitting down as she began to stand up and reach out and take Shinya's hand. Everything around them began to crumble once more.
As suddenly before they knew it they were back in the real world.
"Holy fuck I feel sick" said Irene as she puked all over the ground right next to Lucas.
"Hey, don't puke all over me don't do that!" Said Lucas with a loud voice.
A small smile appeared over Shinya's face as the three of them were now together again standing in front of the large cat once again.
