Chu Ge shook his head. "There's really no need. Let's talk about your situation instead."

After a few more pleas, Chu Ge remained firm about not allowing her to make the call. She sighed and had to give up.
Chu Ge had his own considerations for not needing Chu Shiyao to help explain.
First, he was worried Chu Shiyao might make things worse, and second, even if they used his phone to call, Qin Ruojing probably wouldn't answer. He also couldn't guarantee that Chu Shiyao's phone wouldn't have issues. It's better to be cautious about everything.
