"Roar roar..." Everyone shouted loudly.
"This first cup, in my name, I, Ye Chen, swear I will never serve the Japanese in my lifetime!" Ye Chen immediately raised his cup and drank it in one gulp. Everyone shouted together, "Never serve the Japanese!"
No one hesitated; they all drank their cups in one gulp.
"This second cup!" Ye Chen smiled faintly, then said, "United as one, facing external threats together!"
"United as one, facing external threats together!" Everyone shouted in unison.
Everyone once again drank their second cup, each following suit, drinking every last drop of the second cup of wine. Ye Chen raised the third cup and said, "This third cup, I hope none of us here will ever turn on each other. May we never be enemies!"
"Never be enemies!" Everyone drank down the third cup.
