Essentially, all powerful beings know that the Abyss cannot be destroyed; it is one of the fundamental Rules of the Star Realm's functioning.
Even if the Abyss were destroyed, within a few tens of thousands of years, a new Abyss would appear, bearing another name yet essentially unchanged.
No real difference in essence.
For such a cesspool, even if you know you cannot eliminate it, you must manage it well.
