Evy ran as fast as she could, breath trembling, heart hammering like it wanted to escape her chest.
The hallway seemed endless—room after room, door after door, yet none of them led anywhere. Shadows twisted along the walls, stretching like hungry claws.
Behind her, an eerie voice echoed through the corridor.
Domi: "My deliiiicious liver is running away…
mmm… my sweet liver is running…"
Fear surged through her veins, and she pushed her legs harder.
At last—the end of the hallway.
But before she could even try to escape, another voice appeared above her, cold and delighted.
Romi: "Where are you going, my fresh little treat?"
Evy turned and sprinted back in panic.
A door—wide open.
She slipped inside, slammed it shut, and locked it with shaking fingers. Her eyes darted around.
Footsteps… slow… playful… approaching.
Romi: "Open the door, darling…"
The sound of wet dragging claws scraped across the wood.
Crash.
The door shattered.
Romi stepped in, eyes gleaming, inhaling deeply.
Romi: "Mmm… where are you hiding, my fresh little snack? Under the bed? …no… Under the table? …nothing… Inside the closet?"
She flung the closet open with wild excitement.
Romi: "Ahhh… there you are."
She grabbed Evy by the wrist and lifted her off the ground, laughing with childlike madness.
Romi: "Got you… hehehe!"
Evy's instincts took over—she bit Romi's hand with all her strength.
Romi: "AAARGH! You little—let go!!"
Romi shook her violently, slamming her against the air, trying to yank her off.
Swoooosh — Swoooosh — Skboooosh!
With one furious throw, Romi launched Evy toward the thin window.
CRAAAAASH.
Glass shattered.
Evy flew into the night air, plummeting from the third floor, body twisting, wind swallowing her scream—
and then-
Skboooooooooosh!
She hit the ground with a sickening crack.
Above, voices screamed:
Domi: "MY LIVER!!! Why did you throw her, you idiot?!"
Romi: "She kept biting me! What was I supposed to do?!"
Domi: "This is your fault—"
Romi: "Shut up, you—"
Evy couldn't respond.
Pain drowned everything.
Darkness swallowed her sight.
Only one thing remained—
The slow, thunderous echo inside her chest:
"Ba-dum…"
"Ba-doooom…"
"Badoooooooooom…"
In her mind, a fading whisper escaped:
"Louis… please… help me…"
"Badooooooooooooooooooom."
