Eugene could only offer a long phone call to his mother back at Hatter's Town. It was Christmas Eve, but he chose to spend it with Irving here in the manor. Even if he wanted to take the other person to their house instead, he didn't think it was safe for Irving to travel on his own. Len and Claude shouldn't leave the manor, either.
He could only leave alone if he wanted, but not celebrating with Irving was out of the question.
Eugene sighed heavily and rubbed his head in slight frustration. "They should have taken out that leader way earlier than this. I don't want to be here on New Year's Eve."
"Eugene?" Irving peeked from the corner and met Eugene's inquisitive gaze. "Jameson is calling for everyone. I have to go. Do you want to go with me?"
