Claude had no more fear toward these hunters. They didn't deserve to see another weak image of him. In fact, he would rather draw this emotion out of them as much as he could.
He didn't know which ones were in league with Montgomery. As much as he knew, every hunter was responsible for all the deaths he had to carry.
The second hunter flinched and glanced at the other wolf in the room. She took a deep breath and stared straight into Claude's eyes. "Someone you killed, huh? I do not believe you. His body didn't show up in the last outpost you monsters besieged. If you killed him there, then…"
"The merfolk have their own reasons for claiming his body," came as his quick counter. Claude remembered that scaled amphibian. Then again, he no longer paid attention to that person.
Keith Montgomery was already dead. Claude was free of him.
