She dont know which is the truth but she dont care about that as she dont care about his since she would rather focus on the present than the past
Even though she really didnt focus much on when she first met Kaneki but recently when they encountered thugs on the road while going to her friend's house
She clearly remembered Kaneki getting shot by one of the thugs but he was, at one glance it might seem that the thug missed the shot but she knew that Bullet had hit Kaneki clearly
Which also triggers the memories when she met Kaneki for the first time even though he had been kidnapped a couple of times by the people who kidnapped but after things calmed down, there wasn't even a single injury on his body and thus now she comes to this conclusion
'He can regenerate' Shizuka said this in her mind as she came to this decision since there is no way to explain this other than this word
Even though it might sound absurd to the point that anyone would laugh at her if she told anyone about this but she knows it's possible only because it's Kaneki
She knew Kaneki was very far from being human as shown by his strength which is strong enough to tear a human body apart with just his bare hands
Speed enough to overtake any car and there are also 3 tentacle-like things which come out of his back and act like his limbs as well as there is also his one eye
She knows none of these signs will appear on a human but she dont care about any of these things as to her Kaneki will be Kaneki in her heart
But recently or it would be accurate to say that a new worry bloomed in her heart which is that they might or maybe he will face dangerous people
Like today from what she could see, the person who attacked them or Kaneki to be accurate wasn't a normal person either
She dont know what's going on in this place as first it was zombies and now there are people with powers, but what she knows is that if another danger appears then Kaneki would step up in order to protect them
And even though she dont want him to put his life in danger since it would really break her heart to see him, Hurt or worse lose his life
Even though she knows Kaneki has regeneration, there are still many unbelievable things that happen in this zombie apocalypse that she now believes that anything can happen
If anyone told her that tomorrow God would descend or the devil would come, she might believe it since there are many things that can't be real already happening
So there is also a possibility that there might be danger lurking that they might encounter in future in which Kaneki needs to fight while putting his life on the line
And she knows that she can't stop him at all even if she really wanted to since out of all he is the only one who can protect them
She found this frustrating but she also knew this was an undeniable truth about which she couldn't do anything about it unless she got insane weapons or supernatural powers
Even though they have guns as weapons but she realised that the threats posed by guns were nothing and in those dangers, they couldn't do anything other than rely on Kaneki
She really dont like this but she also knows if he dont protect them then they won't survive and she knows that even if he tries to tell Kaneki that you need to run away if anything endangers his life since she knows he is capable of escaping any danger
But she also knows that He won't do things like running away in order to save his life since that kind of person he is and she knows she's powerless to do it
Thats the reason she needed him to promise that no matter how badly he is hurt or how long he gonna be gone from her, he will definitely return to her
"Yes" Kaneki replied to her as he agreed to what she said, he could tell that this was probably due to today's accident and he knew he couldn't refuse her and he couldn't blame her for that considering the fact how much she cherished him
Kaneki dont really think he could go anywhere else either since she is the only person in the world whom he could call family and his home is with her, so no matter what he will be with her or at least he thinks that way
