Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 — The Night of Blood

Gunshots echoed outside the mansion like thunder.

Guards rushed through the hallways while emergency alarms continued flashing red across the walls. The peaceful mansion transformed into a battlefield within seconds.

Aryan's entire aura changed.

Cold.

Focused.

Deadly.

Eagle had fully awakened.

"Stay inside the safe room," Aryan ordered sharply while checking his gun.

Nithya crossed her arms calmly.

"You really think I'll hide now?"

"This isn't a discussion."

Another explosion shook the mansion slightly.

Aryan immediately grabbed Nithya's wrist and pulled her closer protectively.

For one second, their faces were inches apart.

His eyes were dark with anger and concern.

"They came for you too," he said quietly. "So listen carefully for once."

Nithya looked directly into his eyes.

And for the first time…

She saw genuine fear there.

Not fear for himself.

Fear for her.

Interesting.

Very dangerous.

Outside the mansion gates, black SUVs crashed through security barriers while armed alliance men spread across the property.

Bullets flew through the cold night air.

Eagle's guards fired back instantly with deadly precision.

Bodies dropped quickly.

Screams echoed.

The eastern alliance had underestimated Eagle's territory badly.

Inside the control room, Rohan monitored the cameras.

"North side secure."

"Three intruders eliminated."

"Snipers moving east."

Orders filled the communication lines rapidly.

This was not simple mafia violence anymore.

This was war.

Back inside the mansion, Aryan handed another weapon to Nithya.

She raised an eyebrow slightly.

"You trust me with a gun now?"

Aryan looked at her calmly.

"I think you already know how to use one."

Silence.

Interesting answer.

Without hesitation, Nithya checked the weapon professionally.

Aryan noticed immediately.

No nervousness.

No confusion.

Only experience.

His suspicion deepened further.

Suddenly, the mansion lights flickered once before shutting off completely.

Darkness covered everything.

Gunshots outside became louder.

Rohan's voice echoed through Aryan's earpiece:

"Power system attacked!"

Aryan's expression hardened instantly.

"They're trying to enter from the west corridor."

Nithya immediately understood the strategy.

Diversion attack.

Smart.

Too smart for ordinary mafia soldiers.

"Your enemies are organized," she said calmly.

Aryan glanced at her.

"So are yours."

That sentence hung heavily in the darkness.

Footsteps suddenly echoed near the hallway outside.

Enemy movement.

Aryan immediately pushed Nithya behind him while aiming toward the corridor.

Three armed men appeared.

Before they could fire—

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

Three perfect shots.

Three bodies dropped instantly.

Silence followed.

Aryan slowly turned his head toward Nithya.

She still held the gun steadily.

No shaking hands.

No panic.

Only calm breathing.

Professional accuracy.

For the first time since meeting her…

Aryan looked genuinely shocked.

Nithya lowered the gun slightly.

"What?" she asked calmly.

Aryan stared at her for a long moment.

"That wasn't beginner shooting."

Nithya's lips curved faintly.

"And you're not just a businessman."

Another explosion interrupted the moment.

The walls shook violently.

Rohan's voice came urgently again:

"Sir! Intruders reached the inner garden!"

Aryan's expression darkened instantly.

Too close.

Outside, the battle intensified.

Rain mixed with blood across the mansion grounds while Eagle's men fought ruthlessly against alliance attackers.

The eastern alliance had come prepared.

Heavy weapons.

Professional fighters.

Inside information.

This attack was planned carefully.

Too carefully.

Which meant someone powerful wanted Eagle weakened badly.

Inside the mansion hallway, Aryan and Nithya moved together carefully.

At some point during the chaos, they had stopped acting like husband and wife.

Now they moved like partners in war.

Watching corners.

Covering blind spots.

Understanding movements without words.

Dangerously compatible.

Suddenly another attacker appeared from the staircase.

Before Aryan could react, Nithya moved first.

Fast.

Precise.

Deadly.

She disarmed the man and slammed him against the wall hard enough to knock him unconscious within seconds.

Aryan watched silently.

No ordinary woman moved like that.

No ordinary student fought like that.

Nithya slowly looked back at him.

Their eyes met.

And in that moment…

Both silently understood the truth.

Neither of them were normal.

Finally, after nearly forty minutes, the gunshots outside slowly stopped.

Eagle's forces had won.

Again.

Rohan entered the hallway breathing heavily.

"Perimeter secured."

Aryan nodded once.

"Casualties?"

"Minimal on our side. Heavy losses for them."

Rohan's eyes then moved toward Nithya.

More specifically…

Toward the unconscious attacker beside her.

Clearly defeated by her.

Rohan looked stunned.

Aryan noticed.

But surprisingly…

He said nothing.

Later that night, silence finally returned to the mansion.

Broken glass covered the floors.

Blood stained parts of the entrance hall.

Security teams cleaned evidence quickly.

Inside Aryan's office, only Eagle and Devil remained.

Aryan stood near the window quietly.

Then finally he spoke.

"You knew how to kill."

Not a question.

A statement.

Nithya stayed calm.

"And you knew I was hiding something."

Aryan slowly turned toward her.

His eyes held suspicion now.

But also fascination.

"Who are you really, Nithya?"

The room became silent again.

This time heavier than before.

Closer to truth.

Closer to revelation.

And somewhere deep inside…

Eagle was beginning to realize something terrifying.

The woman he married might be just as dangerous as him.
