She sits up straighter, the tips of her ears turning pink. "I'll! This evening. As soon as he leaves NBRC, I'm going to ask him out at a proper dinner date—maybe at a nice restaurant." Her smile is shy, but her eyes are sparkling.
I can't help but grin, leaning my chin into my palm. "Wow, you've already planned the whole operation, huh?"
"Of course," she says, puffing her cheeks. "I'm not going to miss my chance! It has to be perfect."
Jiang, because he can't seem to resist poking at everything, casually adds, "Just make sure you don't faint before the soup arrives."
Yuyu gasps in mock offense and swats at him. "Oh, hush, Mr. I've-Never-Made-a-Girl-Nervous—"
Jiang raises an eyebrow, smirking. "You'd be surprised." His gaze flickers toward me for a fraction of a second, and I quickly busy myself with straightening the tea set.
