Chapter 304 - Attack on Xandar

Standing to the side was Nebula.

However, judging from the condition of their clothes, both of them were in a rather miserable state. Several places on Ronan's outer armor were torn open, and Nebula also had a number of damaged mechanical parts.

"Carry out my orders,"

"Summon all fleets,"

"Take down Xandar with me!!!"

Ronan roared as he raised his massive war hammer. However, the hammer seemed to be missing something.

With a single command, all of his fleets entered a state of combat readiness and began heading toward Xandar, waiting only for their leader's next order.

Ronan had had enough of this day. First, some insignificant fly had appeared out of nowhere, threatening to kill him in the name of revenge.

Then another barged in halfway. It was the same story—appearing suddenly, interfering without reason, letting him go when he shouldn't, and then claiming he couldn't get what he wanted and simply leaving. How could that not make someone furious?

What was even more infuriating was that he couldn't even defeat them. Not only was he nearly killed, but all the subordinates he brought with him were wiped out, and even his battleship was destroyed. Fortunately, Nebula rescued him, or his reputation would have been ruined forever.

So today, Ronan was going all out. Not for anything else, but to vent his anger. What's more, there was a major power behind him pushing him forward. With the Cosmic Orb in hand, everything would be easy to negotiate.

With aggression driven by fury and revenge simmering beneath the surface, Kree and Xandar seemed destined to ignite yet another war that could last for thousands of years.

Just after Blaine and the others returned to Xandar, a piercing alarm woke them once again.

This siren was specially designed by Xandar to signal an invasion by Kree. Once it sounded, the entire planet went on high alert, prepared to meet the enemy.

"Damn it, we didn't even go looking for them,"

"That bastard Ronan came after me instead."

Yondu cursed loudly as he went to gather his men, convinced that Ronan was here specifically to cause trouble for him.

In less than half an hour, Ronan led his Kree army to the outer edge of Xandar's atmosphere.

There weren't many warships—only one—but that single vessel was as vast as a black cloud blotting out the sky.

Blaine estimated that this warship was similar to the wreck on Morag. If compared to the territorial divisions of the United States, it would be at least the size of several Virginias combined.

A space battleship mothership of that scale could function as a moving planet, a space fortress. Not to mention Ronan's legion inside—just the mothership itself crashing down would be catastrophic.

It was suffocating.

As the enemy army continued its advance, the ruler of Xandar could no longer remain seated and immediately ordered a counterattack. Countless smaller warships surged into the sky like a swarm of locusts.

The leader of Xandar was a middle-aged woman. By Earth standards, she looked to be in her forties or fifties, yet no one knew how long the soul beneath that appearance had truly lived.

Perhaps they had never witnessed such a grand battle before, as it caused the female president and her subordinates a moment of visible panic.

Watching Ronan's warship in the sky face a hundred enemies alone, Blaine's eyes widened with curiosity. In both his lives, he had never seen a battle on this scale.

In the next instant, Blaine moved directly to a position more suitable for observing the fight.

One by one, all of Xandar's fleets assembled opposite Ronan's battleship.

Xandar's fleet was uniform in appearance, every ship gleaming with a radiant golden hue, dazzling to the eye.

Following commands from the ground, the fleets unexpectedly lined up in sequence, forming what looked like a massive formation.

Their movements were swift and precise, clearly the result of extensive training. Once all the warships spread out, they blocked the path of Ronan's battleship like a colossal net.

But it didn't end there. In the very next second, every warship in the formation emitted an even stronger golden light, and the lights connected seamlessly. The formation now resembled an enormous golden net, with Ronan's battleship trapped like a giant fish within it.

Ronan seemed determined to seize Xandar. The speed of his battleship did not slow in the slightest and continued charging forward.

When the two forces collided, Blaine was surprised to find that there was no explosion at the point of impact. The golden warships of Xandar showed no signs of damage from the crushing force.

They were merely pushed back slightly. At the same time, the surrounding warships pulled together, actually managing to halt Ronan's massive battleship for a brief moment.

The interconnected golden light truly resembled a gigantic net now, tightly binding the enemy. All the warships were linked together, no longer fighting alone but participating collectively in the blockade.

The black battleship commanded by Ronan appeared to be wrapped in golden armor at this moment. The entire sky was dyed gold, blindingly brilliant.

However, the two sides had been at war for thousands of years. How could Ronan be unfamiliar with Xandar's tactics? Since he had come, he naturally had a way to deal with this blocking net. The fight would not stop just because he was held at the gates.

Ronan understood this well. If he couldn't break into Kerry's atmosphere and smash through the enemy's defenses, all aggression would be meaningless.

Sure enough, the next moment, a blinding white light suddenly flared on the right side of the black battleship fortress.

An earth-shaking roar followed—it was a bombardment. If brute force wasn't enough, Ronan would simply apply more of it.

Where the energy blast struck, a massive hole instantly tore open in the golden net. Xandar lost at least a dozen warships in that single attack.

Boom… crack…

This time, not only the right side but the left side also erupted with white light. Before long, more warships were blown apart.

Now Blaine finally understood. Ideas like using softness to overcome hardness, or using four ounces to deflect a thousand pounds, were nothing but fantasies. If such methods worked, it was only because you weren't strong enough to begin with. When overwhelming power stands before you, everything else becomes meaningless.

The golden warships of Xandar desperately worked to release more golden light, trying their best to reconnect and once again intercept Ronan using the same method.

Perhaps even the female president had misjudged the situation. In the past, Ronan had led fleets in group battles, and although both sides suffered heavy losses, neither gained a true advantage.

But after thousands of years of warfare, Ronan had changed his strategy. This time, the enemy hadn't lost a single soldier, yet Xandar's forces were already in disarray, their formation completely disrupted.

As for the intelligence of aliens, Blaine truly couldn't bring himself to agree.
