Chapter 40 - Dust Angel

The rusty yellow taxi bounced over the broken road, kicking up pale dust. Inside, the air was thick with anger and cheap air freshener. The Indian brother's knuckles were white as he gripped the steering wheel. His eyes, burning with a fierce fire, kept glancing in the rearview mirror at his cousin, who was tied up and struggling in the back.

"My rival cousin," the Indian brother said, his voice low and hard. "I tied him in the back of the car. And you taught me at this time, Deadpool." He spoke the name like it was a sacred word. He turned his head slightly, his jaw tight. "Cut him open, and then throw his body in Gita at the door." Gita was his most precious treasure, the thing he loved most in the world.

In the passenger seat, Deadpool spun his head around. He pointed a gloved finger at Colossus, who was sitting in the back seat. The big metal man was staring at Deadpool, his face a mask of stern disapproval. "I didn't teach him this!" Deadpool explained, his voice sharp and serious. "Absolutely not, he must have misunderstood my words."

Then Deadpool turned back to the Indian brother. He pointed at the young man as if sharing a very important lesson. "If you do this, you will never win Geeta's heart!" he said, as if this was a solid and unbreakable rule.

From the back seat, a very quiet, whispering voice drifted forward. "I'm so proud of you."

Deadpool ignored the whisper and gave a new order. "Let him go. Handle it gently."

Another whisper followed, soft and sinister. "Kill him."

"Then snatch Geeta back," Deadpool continued, his tone full of confidence, "and use your masculinity to win her over."

The whisper came again, a sly suggestion. "Kidnap her."

The Indian brother was completely confused. He drove in silence for a moment, his brow furrowed. Deadpool's "hard-hearted" teaching was a storm of conflicting ideas in his mind. He did not know which part to listen to.

In the back seat, the mutant named Bullet turned to Colossus. A strange, tight smile played on her lips. "He is dead," she said, meaning the tied-up cousin.

The taxi slowed to a stop near a vast, empty shore. The huge, dark shape of an abandoned aircraft carrier sat in the water ahead, like a sleeping metal giant. "Oh, it's here," the Indian brother said. He turned around, his angry mood suddenly gone, replaced by a happy excitement. He raised his hand towards Deadpool. "Come and give me a high five."

"I want to give you a high-five," Deadpool said, raising his own hands. Their palms met with a loud smack that echoed in the small car.

"Okay, guys, get out of the car and change the world," Deadpool announced to Colossus and Warhead in the back. He turned back to the Indian brother and gave him a thumbs up. He lowered his voice to a secretive murmur. "You know what to do."

The Indian brother smiled widely and returned the thumbs up. He watched Deadpool get out of the car. "Fuck them, Deadpool. Net," he called out, his voice full of support.

The three of them stood on the dusty ground. Deadpool rubbed his hands together, his red suit a bright spot of color against the gray landscape. "The time has come to show off your skills," he said, his voice buzzing with excitement.

Just then, a white van, a Wuling Hongguang S, pulled up smoothly behind them. Its door slid open and Lin Yu stepped out. He was calm and moved with an easy grace. He walked to the back of the van, opened the rear door, and lifted out Francis, who was still a prisoner. He carried Francis over to the group.

Lin Yu looked past them at the massive, decaying aircraft carrier. The sea wind whipped at his hair. "This is it?" he asked, his voice steady.

"That's right," Deadpool said, snapping his fingers. "Fight the bad guys, let's go."

They heard the sound of the taxi's engine starting. The Indian brother drove away, leaving them there. The four of them, Deadpool, Lin Yu, Colossus, and Warhead, plus Francis who was carried by Lin Yu, began walking towards the aircraft carrier.

"Pyramid, you go in with us," Lin Yu said, turning his head towards the white van.

"Yes," the van answered. Its headlights flashed twice, bright then dim.

Deadpool stared at the van, his head tilted in curiosity. "Your car will answer your questions?" he asked Lin Yu. "You don't want to say that this car is actually a Transformer, do you? Depart from Transformation?!"

Lin Yu's smile was a mysterious little curve on his lips. "You'll know in a while," he said. He thought to himself that Deadpool's mind was very quick, and he had guessed the truth right away.

"It can't really be a Transformer, right?" Colossus muttered. He and Bullet both felt that Deadpool's wild guess was probably correct. Lin Yu had always given them a feeling that he could do anything. Even if the van was a robot from space, they would not be very surprised.

"Guess," Lin Yu said with a light laugh, and he continued walking forward.

They walked with a powerful swagger towards the ruins near the aircraft carrier. It seemed like heroic music should be playing in the air for them, a soundtrack for their mission.

It was then that Bullet gave Deadpool a strange look. "Hey!" she said. "Where's your hellokitty?"

Deadpool froze. His eyes went wide. He was completely silent.

Meanwhile, the Indian brother was driving his taxi back towards the city. He was looking for passengers. On the passenger seat next to him were the two hello kitty backpacks that Deadpool had left behind. They were full of guns.

Suddenly, the phone on his dashboard mount started to ring. He reached for it, but his fingers fumbled. The phone slipped down and fell onto the floor.

"Beep!" A car horn blared. The Indian brother, frantic to get his phone, looked up. A huge truck was right in front of him at the intersection. He slammed on the brakes, and the taxi screeched to a stop, just missing the truck's bumper.

But then, a sickening crunch filled the air.

"Boom!"The taxi was hit from behind by a white car.

From the trunk of the taxi came a series of muffled, pained cries. "Ah-ah-ah!"

The Indian brother's face fell. He looked back towards the trunk, his expression full of misery and worry. "Cousin!?" he yelled out, helpless and scared.

Back at the shore, Deadpool was pacing back and forth with his phone to his ear. He was waiting for the Indian brother to answer. He walked over to Bullet and poked her ear playfully. She slapped his hand away with a vicious scowl.

He heard the voicemail message on his phone. "Please leave a message, I wish you a happy day." Deadpool hung up in a fury. "Damn it's a fork," he cursed. "Then use the old method, two swords plus maximum s hard work."

He then pointed to the empty air beside him. "The music continues," he commanded. And in his mind, the heroic soundtrack started playing again.

The group reached a area of broken concrete and twisted metal next to the aircraft carrier. The air grew tense.

Then, from the shadows of the ruins, men began to appear. They were mercenaries, dressed in rough clothes and holding guns. Many guns. They moved out from behind broken walls and piles of rubble, their weapons aimed directly at the newcomers.

High up on the deck of the abandoned aircraft carrier, a figure appeared. It was Angel Dust. She smiled down at them. Her body was incredibly strong, and her chest muscles were huge and impressive.

"Look," Deadpool said, patting Colossus and Warhead on their arms. He was practically bouncing with excitement. "A superhero is here, and she's about to act like a superhero. Look at it."

Just as he finished speaking, Angel Dust leaped from the aircraft carrier. It was a leap of faith. She soared through the air and landed on the ground in front of them with a powerful, earth-shaking "Boom!" She landed on one knee, a classic superhero pose. The force of her landing kicked up a cloud of dirt and dust that flew all around her.

"Oh! The superhero is on the stage!" Deadpool clapped his hands like a happy child. He then turned his head as if speaking to someone invisible. "This will hurt your knees, and they will kneel, but they always remain stubborn."

"Indeed," Lin Yu agreed, nodding. "If you don't have strong physical fitness, playing like this will do a lot of damage to your knees. But it's really cool to play like this."

Colossus and Bullet just watched. They were used to Deadpool's strange behavior, but they were still puzzled by how easily Lin Yu joined in. Was this handsome, normal-looking man just as crazy as Deadpool was?

Deadpool's playful mood vanished. He took Francis from Lin Yu's grasp. He held a dagger to the man's throat. His voice was cold and direct when he spoke to Angel Dust. "So, where is Vanessa?"

Angel Dust waved a hand. Two of her mercenaries came forward, leading a woman whose hands were tied. It was Vanessa. Her eyes were wide, searching for Deadpool.

"Vanessa!" Deadpool's voice was a mix of relief and joy.

"Woo!" Vanessa tried to call out his name, but the tape over her mouth turned it into a desperate sound.

"Okay," Deadpool said, his voice tight. "I'll hand over this bastard to you, and you also return Vanessa to me." He pushed Francis forward.

Angel Dust gestured to her two men. They pushed Vanessa forward.

The two groups moved towards each other on the dusty ground. It was a tense, silent exchange. When Vanessa was close, Deadpool gently but quickly ripped the tape from her mouth. He used his dagger to slice through the ropes binding her wrists. Then, he pulled her into a tight, desperate hug. He could feel her heart beating fast against his chest.

"I'm here to save you," he whispered into her hair. "Are you excited?"

Vanessa pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. Her gaze was steady and full of love. "You are my hero," she said, and every word was true.

"I will always be your hero," Deadpool said. For once, there was no joke in his voice, only a deep and serious promise.

"Come here," Vanessa whispered. She put her arms around his neck and pulled him close.

And there, in the middle of the enemy's base, under the eyes of mercenaries, mutants, and a mysterious man with a talking van, Deadpool and Vanessa shared a long, passionate kiss. It was a kiss that held all their fear, their hope, and their fierce, unbreakable love.
