Chapter 124 - Bat On Knife Dyanmics

Alara stood beneath the lights of the library atrium, her blonde hair glowing from the faint traces of the buring books around her. Her blue eyes glowed with that strange sapphire hue again, revealing something old and unfathomable. Alara shifted her grip on the pink aluminum bat in her hands, its surface shining with the embedded green emeralds inside it, each one sharpened to a point, made to split bone and puncture flesh. The aura surrounding Alara was no longer that of a playful killer. It was like someone regal, something terrible, like Alara stepped out the age of myth and into a world of blood.

Across from her, the Raider charged towards Alara. He is a tall, broad-shouldered man in a ragged brown suit, with the lapels torn, stained in blood and sweat. His long gray beard shook with every breath, as his wild white hair clung matted to his scalp from a lack of a shower. Held in his hand was a Bowie knife with a long, serrated edge, something as illegal as it was deadly. He man yelled as he ran, at Alara, his voice filled with rage.

"You blond bitch! You look just like my ex-fiancée! The whore who left me the day before the world ended just because I got drunk and slept with all of the bridesmaids for our wedding. It was one fucking night! Now I get to take it out on you, you pink bitch!"

Alara didn't flinch at this cringe story.

Their weapons collided mid-air in the center of the room. A Steel kife meeting an aluminum bat with a brutal clang, the green- emerald studded bat slammed against the Bowie knife just inches from the man's snarling face.

Alara leaned in, her voice quiet and cold. "You stink. No wonder your fiance left you."

Then, her knee launched upwards. The Raider's face twisted in pain just as her booted foot connected with the man's balls. He let out a strangled cry, faltering and stumbling backwards a few steps, the grip on his knife loosened by the sudden burst of agony to his manhood and pride.

Alara took a half-step forward, twirling her bat once in the air with deadly grace.

"Guess you didn't have much manhood to begin with," she said, lifting her head defiantly. "Now I know it wasn't a loss for her when your fiance left you."

The Raider spat a mouthful of blood onto the marble floor, his teeth now red with blood. Rage covered every corner of his face. "You pink princess bitch! I'll carve my name into your flesh!"

Alara rolled her shoulders back, taking a casual stance, as she shifted her body weight lightly to the balls of her feet. "Why don't you go take a piss and reflect on whether you're worthy."

The man screamed, lunging towards Alara. His Bowie knife came down in a vertical arc, slicing the air where Alara just stood. She moved swiftly to the right, as the blade whooshed past beside her shoulder.

Her bat came up instantly in response.

Bang!

CRACK!

The impact of bone breaking echoed throughout the library. Alara's swing hit the elbo of his hand holding the knife. His elbow bent the wrong way with a sickening crack, as his Bowie Knife flew from his hand.

The man howled, staggering, as he held his ruined arm but even in pain, he wasn't finished. He reached out with his other hand, grabbing the falling knife mid-air with impressive speed. Blood dripped from both lips and hand as he laughed out loud.

"I wasn't even using my good hand, girl. Now the real fight is gonna start."

Alara watched at him, unimpressed. Her bat lowering slightly.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever helps you pretend you're still winning, loser."
