"Sister Kurenai, you did well," Sasame said, putting down the document and complimenting her. Kurenai Yuhi immediately breathed a sigh of relief. At the time, Sasame was away. As his secretary, she consulted with the Hokage's advisor, Hiashi Hyuga, and then sent Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake. Because it involved the Nine-Tails' chakra and Sasuke Uchiha, she felt the situation was serious.
"Sister Kurenai, it feels like in another two years, you'll be getting a promotion," Sasame said with a hint of emotion.
Promotion? Kurenai Yuhi's movements paused. At that moment, she was thinking of a promotion in their relationship, like becoming Hokage's wife. But she quickly realized Sasame was probably talking about becoming a Hokage advisor. She originally had no qualifications for that. However, after serving in the Hokage's bodyguard team and as his secretary, she had gained enough experience.
"I still have a long way to go," Kurenai Yuhi said with a smile, showing self-awareness.
"That day will come," Sasame said, staring at her beautiful red eyes.
"I'll take that as a good omen," Kurenai Yuhi's heart quickened under his gaze. Sasame was the Hokage. His words were undoubtedly a guarantee for the future.
"Is there anything else you need me to do?" Kurenai Yuhi leaned forward slightly, carrying the scent of roses. She picked up the documents on the table. Sasame managed to catch a glimpse of a flash of white. He stroked his chin. "Send a letter to Kakashi," he said.
Kurenai Yuhi immediately took out a pen and paper. "What should I write?" she asked.
"Tell Chiriku to hand over the cultivation method for the Sage Talent," Sasame chuckled. "His bias towards Sora has already offended our Konoha Village. This is his apology." Kurenai Yuhi looked at him, her heart stirring. The Fire Temple was a major force in the Land of Fire. And the Sage Talent was their secret technique. But Sasame was so casually demanding it. This was the power of strength. Kurenai Yuhi was already imagining how wonderful her future would be if she married Sasame.
"Did you write that?" Sasame asked, seeing her movements had stopped. He reached out and lightly caressed her thigh. Hmm, the texture of the stockings was good. As expected of the high-quality ones he had bought. Kurenai Yuhi's face flushed slightly as she recovered. She was flustered from both being caught slacking off and being touched.
"I've written it," Kurenai Yuhi tensed her body, returning to her professional secretary demeanor. "Do I need to inform the Daimyo?" she asked.
"Why would you need to inform the Daimyo?" Sasame was startled.
"Chiriku was once a Guardian Ninja," Kurenai Yuhi explained.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Sasame could understand her thought process. But the Daimyo of the Land of Fire was just his puppet. Speaking of which, maybe it was time to put his own forces in order. Having Koyuki Kazahana take over would be much more interesting.
"You can go ahead and do it. The Daimyo won't have any objections," Sasame added, seeing her confusion. In the minds of ordinary ninjas, the Daimyo's status was quite high. It could only be said that this world was a little twisted.
"Yes," Kurenai Yuhi replied. Compared to the Daimyo, she naturally listened to the Hokage's orders more. After she left, Sasame immediately left work.
Returning home, Tsunade was watching TV. Their daughter, Chiharu, was in her arms, her eyes closed and sleeping. After the last TV show ended, Sasame had the film crew in the Land of Snow make a second one. Although he found it average, Tsunade was engrossed.
"This is too much, sister," Sasame said, seeing her focused expression. "Are you even going to pay attention to me now that I'm back?"
"I see you every day. What's there to pay attention to?" Tsunade said, putting Chiharu in the cradle and beckoning to him. Sasame leaned in and was embraced by her.
"Are you happy now? Why are you acting like a child?" Tsunade said with a chuckle. Sasame was slightly taken aback. He felt that Tsunade had become a lot more gentle. It seems becoming a mother really changed a person. Sasame sat beside her and lay down, resting his head on her thigh.
"Sister, do you remember the Wood Release awakening experiment Orochimaru was supposed to do a long time ago?" Sasame said, enjoying her massage. His eyes tried to see her face through the large obstruction, but it was futile.
"I remember," Tsunade's expression hardened as she looked down at him. "Has there been any progress?" she asked, her voice filled with anticipation. If they could awaken Wood Release through this experiment, it meant the Senju clan would be revived through her. At the same time, it would be a good thing for Konoha Village. The power of Wood Release was obvious to all. Even the cells of Hashirama were stronger than a normal Jonin's. Of course, Tsunade did not want that. After Sasame became Hokage, he had completely stopped the experiment. The few Wood Release ninjas in the Sarutobi clan were the last remnants.
"Yes," Sasame nodded. "Orochimaru told me not long ago that he's made some progress."
"Really?" Tsunade's face showed surprise. But she wasn't skeptical; she was just happy.
"Go to Konoha Hospital next Monday," Sasame said directly. "Orochimaru will perform the surgery on you."
"Okay," Tsunade immediately smiled. "I never thought I'd be able to use Wood Release one day."
"Wood Release isn't as powerful as you think," Sasame said. "Its power depends on chakra." Tsunade had the Yin Seal, so she had quite a lot of chakra. But her recovery was slow. She couldn't use Wood Release as freely as Sasame. Not to mention using True Several Thousand Hands and the Wood Golem's Great Forest. The prerequisite for using those two Wood Release jutsu was Sage Art chakra.
"It's fine," Tsunade had already expected this. If Wood Release were that powerful, the Sarutobi clan, with a few Wood Release ninjas, wouldn't have fallen to their current state.
A moment later, Chiharu woke up. Tsunade immediately pushed Sasame away and picked up her daughter.
"..." Sasame sighed. "My status has dropped significantly."
"Daughter, look at your father. Don't learn from him," Tsunade said, teasing Chiharu and glaring at him.
"Don't slander me in front of our daughter," Sasame leaned in. "Chiharu, your mom is talking nonsense. Don't believe her." He wanted to set a good example for his daughter.
"What are you saying?!" Tsunade pouted, and a fist landed on Sasame's head. Chiharu, with her big eyes, watched them, laughing happily.
"You're the one who's going to corrupt the child," Sasame grabbed her hand.
"Hmph, it's all your fault," Tsunade said, realizing her actions were not appropriate and glaring at him.
"My fault," Sasame readily admitted. Tsunade, seeing this, let him go.
"Where's Shizune?" Sasame asked, changing the subject.
"What about her?" Tsunade's eyes turned dangerous as she stared at him. "Do you miss her?"
"No," Sasame smelled a hint of jealousy and quickly shook his head. "I was just wondering when she'd be back. If it's late, I'll cook."
"Shizune is still young. You need to be more mindful of her," Tsunade suddenly said. "We can have a younger brother or sister for Chiharu when she's older." She meant Shizune getting pregnant, not her having a second child. Sasame breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn't thought about that. Shizune also had no such thoughts right now.
Speaking of pregnancy, he thought of Mikoto Uchiha. He would need to send her out of the village in another two months. Staying in Konoha Village and getting caught by Tsunade would be quite a show. Mikoto Uchiha wouldn't betray him, but she would only be able to blame herself. Sasame certainly wouldn't be that heartless. He was the Hokage now, and he could easily find a reason to send Mikoto Uchiha away. He would send her to the Land of Snow.
"I'll go cook," Sasame glanced at the time, stood up, and kissed Tsunade's face before leaving. Not long after, Shizune opened the door. Since Chiharu was born, she had spent less time at home. Tsunade no longer needed her to look after her. Besides, it was a bit of a waste. Shizune was still young and ambitious. Unlike Tsunade, who had completely given up on her career. She now only cared about Sasame and her daughter. She no longer bothered with anything else.
"Tsunade-sama," Shizune took off her shoes and ran to Chiharu. Having a child in the house was a blessing. Only after Sasame served dinner did the two women reluctantly let go of Chiharu.
Night.
Tsunade, although she had accepted Shizune, they barely slept together. Sasame could only split his time between the two halves of the night.
A new day.
Hokage Office.
Sasuke Uchiha had returned. Sasame finished reading his mission report and nodded. It was written very clearly. It included a detailed analysis of Kakuzu and Kishi. In short, he was a qualified ninja. The current Sasuke Uchiha's demeanor was closer to Itachi Uchiha's. Although he still occasionally couldn't help but show off.
"You did well," Sasame said, putting down the mission report. "The fact that you awakened Susanoo shows that your strength has advanced another step."
"It's all thanks to Teacher's guidance," Sasuke Uchiha said humbly. But it was true. The fact that he was able to awaken Susanoo this time was indeed thanks to Sasame. From his stimulus as Kishi to the residual effects of Satori.
"Teacher," Sasuke Uchiha asked impatiently. "I want to continue investigating the mysterious organization."
"You will, but not you personally," Sasame shook his head. "Your top priority is to solidify your strength." Sasuke Uchiha wanted to say more but eventually agreed. His eagerness was mainly due to Itachi Uchiha. He didn't truly want to find trouble with the mysterious organization.
"Besides that, you can try to cultivate the Sage Talent," Sasame said, taking out a scroll. "Perhaps your strength can improve further." In the original work, Sasuke Uchiha had a special Susanoo state: the cursed seal plus Susanoo. If that didn't work, he could always let him get the cursed seal.
"Thank you, Teacher." Sasuke Uchiha took the scroll and left the Hokage Office. But he didn't rush to train; he went home. He went to the Hokage's Office first because he had just arrived in Konoha. Mikoto Uchiha didn't know he had already completed the mission.
"Mom," Sasuke Uchiha opened the door and called out.
"So happy?" Mikoto Uchiha was sweeping the floor. Hearing the voice, she looked up at him. She immediately noticed his smile. Before, Sasame had told her he would help Sasuke Uchiha. Now, after a mission, he had clearly made some progress.
"I awakened Susanoo," Sasuke Uchiha said with a hint of pride.
He awakened Susanoo? Mikoto Uchiha was stunned. But she quickly smiled. "You worked hard," she said.
"It was nothing," Sasuke Uchiha shook his head.
"Did you tell your teacher?" Mikoto Uchiha stood up and put the mop aside.
"I've already seen him," Sasuke Uchiha said, then, scratching his head, he said a little awkwardly, "Mom, I'm hungry."
"You go rest for a bit," Mikoto Uchiha walked towards the kitchen. Because it wasn't noon yet, she simply made a bowl of ramen. Sasuke Uchiha didn't complain and ate happily. Just then, Mikoto Uchiha suddenly covered her mouth and retched.
"Mom?" Sasuke Uchiha immediately tensed. "Are you not feeling well?"
"I'm fine," Mikoto Uchiha said casually. "I'm just a little tired from cleaning."
"Then should we go to the hospital?" Sasuke Uchiha was still worried. After losing his father and brother, Mikoto Uchiha was the most important person in his life. Therefore, he was a little overly concerned.
"It's not that serious," Mikoto Uchiha couldn't help but chuckle. "Konoha Hospital is busy as it is. Don't bother them with something so small."
"Okay," Sasuke Uchiha took a few more bites of ramen. "How about I ask Sakura to come over?"
"Sakura?" Mikoto Uchiha's eyes lit up. "Is she your classmate?"
"Yes. Sakura Haruno. She's Director Nonou's student," Sasuke Uchiha was unaware of his mother's gossipy eyes. If he knew, he would definitely regret mentioning Sakura Haruno.
Mikoto Uchiha looked thoughtful. It was rare for her son to mention another girl; it was a sign of progress.
"You can invite her to have dinner at our house sometime," she said. Sasuke Uchiha agreed but didn't think too much of it.
A week passed quickly. Konoha Hospital. A surgery room was cleared out. To prevent Tsunade from noticing anything, she was given anesthesia. She didn't suspect anything, thinking that the Wood Release awakening was very complicated. After the other medical ninjas left, Orochimaru took out the red pill. He had studied it for a week, but had no clue. This was a blow to him. But his curiosity was even stronger.
Orochimaru looked at the pill, then looked up. "What exactly is this?" he asked.
"A good question, and I don't know the answer either," Sasame twitched his lips. "It has nothing to do with you." He took the pill and put it in Tsunade's mouth.
Orochimaru was speechless. But he couldn't fight him, so he had no choice. He went along with the act. He created some small marks on Tsunade's arm, as if she had undergone a major procedure. An hour later, Tsunade woke up. She looked at her arm and felt all the cells in her body were very active. She even felt a lot younger. Wood Release represented vitality. She had redeemed her talent from the Destiny Halo. It was plausible that it would improve her physique.
"The surgery was a success," Orochimaru said, turning to leave. There was no point in staying.
"How was it?" Sasame asked with a smile.
"It was great," Tsunade turned around and said. "I feel my entire body is filled with power."
