The count, holding his tears, said,
"Cia, I know this decision was tough for you, but I am glad you made the right choice. As your grandfather, I will do everything I can to make sure your life there will be comfortable. The current Magic Emperor is a friend of mine. I will talk to him and will emphasize your safety. He also knows a lot about your magic. One thing is for sure: your magic will make your revenge easier and faster."
Alicia spoke,
"Grandpa, but having this magic would mean that I will not develop any holy powers, wouldn't it be quite hard to fight against them? They might see right through me with their powers, and it would be quite hard for me to fight against them... "
The Count replied,
"Cia, magic is on equal footing with divine powers and is opposite in nature, meaning they cancel out each other. Hence, if someone used a spell by the regular technique, the divine powers would easily counter it. But it is not true for inherited and special magic. I don't know the full details, but during a conversation, Bella told me this."
Alicia was amazed to hear this. She thought this sudden gain of magic powers would make her revenge easier. A hope that her decision might be right flickered on her face.
The baron took charge of arranging a carriage and basic necessities for Alicia's travel. The Count asked the Magic Emperor for this favour, who agreed immediately. Alfred helped Alicia pack her belongings. In three days, everything was set.
But Alicia was astonished by the Magic Emperor's easy concur. To her, this person was a stranger who now knows about her existence. But on the other side, she trusted her grandfather's judgement. So, she didn't say much about it.
But Sir Alfred sensed Alicia's dilemma and asked,
"Princess, what's wrong? Why do you look hesitant?"
Alicia, with a sigh, replied,
"Nothing can hide from you, isn't it, Uncle? I tried so hard that no one would notice, but you did anyway. I am just surprised by the Magic Emperor's concur. He accepted me so easily when I would be a huge burden to him, and not to mention the Emperor. I can't wrap my head around this ..."
Hearing this, Baron replied,
"Cia, the Magic Emperor is most trusted by our family. He is a distant cousin of mine. and he was your mother's rival and best friend at the Mage district. when she descended from that position, he was the one to cry about it the most. He was like a brother to my sister, and he treated her the same. When you were born, he ordered a grand festival in the Mage district, which lasted for two weeks. Right now, he is also the one who is helping us uncover the Emperor's wrongdoings. You need not worry, he might be strict with you, but we are sure that he will take good care of you."
Hearing that, Alicia calmed down. With teary eyes, she boarded the carriage and waved goodbye to her family as she started her journey towards the Mage district.
