The next day, at the Starlum castle, Alicia woke up early and got ready to meet Arthur. She was escorted to the previous private room by a servant. Arthur was already there waiting for her. He spoke,
"Good morning, Alicia. Shall we continue yesterday's conversation?"
Alicia greeted back,
"Good morning, your majesty. Let us continue yesterday's conversation."
The Magic Emperor continued,
"So, as you already might have known, you will go by Kaitlyn here. Now, for your training and living accommodations, you will stay in the Starlum Castle for now, while my trusted mages will try to figure out what kinds of dark magic you have...."
He was interrupted by Alicia,
"Your majesty, what is dark magic?"
Arthur replied,
"You don't need to be so formal with me. You can just call me Sir or anything of similar context. Now, for your answer, Dark magic is one of the rarest and most sought-after forms of magic. The kind of magic, or simply the magics, that do not help you control any elements directly fall into the dark magic category. This magic differs from one person to another; that is, in the same generation, the probability of finding another person who has the same type of dark magic as you is almost nil. Its level of harm depends on the user. For example, your concealing magic isn't harmful on its own, but what you might do while using it shows its danger. It is a special magic that isn't affected much by light magic, which is usually called divinity. Meaning, if you use concealing magic, you would not be found out by a person who doesn't have a strong affinity for light magic. It doesn't repel light magic like other magics, but it doesn't support it either."
Alicia, confused, asked,
"Are light magic and divinity different in any aspects?"
Arthur replied,
"No, they are the same. But in the old Kiburg Empire, they considered divinity as light magic. Since the mage district was mostly comprised of Kiburg's mages when it was founded, and it has been pretty much shut off from then on, we mages still say divinity as light magic."
Arthur continued,
"So, about what I was saying earlier, my mages will try to figure out what kinds of dark magics you have. As previously recorded, concealing magic is always accompanied by another kind of dark magic. (Looking at Alicia's worried face) And don't worry, concealing magic is one of the most researched of all the dark magics. It is a kind of dark magic that can be used even if you have less or almost no affinity towards it. If you have a great amount of mana, you can use it easily, and so, the master mages, the highest class of mage, are well versed in it. They can help you in training."
Alicia was quite relaxed after that.
Alicia spoke,
"Thank you, Sir, for all your help."
Arthur replied,
"As I told you before, I am just repaying my debt, so it is fine."
Alicia smiled and left for her room.
Arthur to his aid,
"Don't you see the resemblance also, Carl?"
Carl, who was hiding himself using concealing magic, appeared and spoke,
"Definitely. When you first told me about that, I didn't think it would be this much, but when she entered, I felt like it was Bella who had entered. Arthur, can I join the Appraisal team you are sending tomorrow? I would like to officially introduce myself to my niece."
