Chapter 382 - A Powerful Being Comparable to Superman

[Answer complete, starting to play answer analysis!]

The system notification suddenly sounded, interrupting everyone's discussion.

A corresponding video was played on the big screen.

Cersei's eyes widened immediately, staring intently at the screen. No one was more concerned than her about the "reappearance" of the mutant race.

A man and a woman stood on the mottled, dilapidated steps of a staircase. The woman was naturally Cersei, and the man was her current boyfriend, Diane Whitman.

Of course, so far, no one except Cersei recognized Diane.

Even Cersei didn't know that the Diane she knew was not an ordinary person.

Diane held a ring in his hand, looking interested: "Is this medieval?"

"It has your family crest," Cersei explained.

"It must be very expensive, right?"

"I'm a master of online bidding."

  "Thank you."

  "Happy birthday."

"So... have you considered living together?"

"I have, but I'm sorry, I can't move in with you."

"I knew you'd say that. I think I know why. Are you a wizard?"

  "What?"

"Like Doctor Strange, I've noticed unusual things happen around you, like when the waiter ignores us, the water turns into coffee."

Water turning into coffee—undoubtedly, it's Cersei's ability to alter the molecular structure of objects. It's

just that no one expected Cersei to use her power in such a way; it's a complete waste of her powerful ability.

"Water turning into coffee? I have an idea. If Ms. Cersei opened a coffee shop, wouldn't that be a highly profitable business?"

Peter Parker, his imagination running wild, said enthusiastically.

  Cersei was speechless.

Her ability wasn't for these kinds of things!

  On the screen,

  Cersei and Dane continued.

"Spike also lets slip some information, like that you and your ex-boyfriend broke up a century ago."

  "That's what she said?"

"She also said your ex-boyfriend could fly."

  "He was a pilot."

"Why don't you two just get a room!"

A voice interrupted their conversation, and a child who looked like a little boy but was actually a little girl approached.

It was none other than Spike, the one Dane had mentioned, a member of the Eternals, skilled in creating illusions.

"Can we go now? My sleep time is over," Spike urged the two.

Sersi and Dane naturally had nothing to say and followed Spike away.

The group strolled along the riverbank, chatting as they went, but none of them noticed a monster quietly swimming past in the water.

It wasn't until they reached a small bridge that a massive, grotesque monster leaped out of the water.

"Holy crap, is that a mutant?"

Peter Parker couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

The crowd was visibly shaken, their scalps tingling as they stared at the gigantic monster, over two meters tall even while lying on the ground, feeling a sense of suffocation.

How could they possibly defeat such a monster?

Even those present, all enhanced with various abilities, were honestly unafraid to face it, except for peak combatants like Thor and Iron Man.

Even Tony Stark doubted whether he could kill it with a single shot.

  The monster was simply terrifying.

  On the screen,

"Holy crap, is that a mutant?"

Spike's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in shock.

This single sentence revealed Spike's identity to everyone, as ordinary people wouldn't recognize mutants.

  "Dane, run!"

  Sersi shouted and rushed forward.

  Bang!

The mutant leaped off the bridge, slamming into the ground with a violent thud.

However, before the mutant could react, Sersi slammed her hands on the ground, activating her ability. The ground beneath the mutant's feet instantly transformed into a swamp-like substance.

The mutant's entire body began to sink into it.

However, at the crucial moment, several tentacles extended from the mutant's body, grabbing onto a nearby building and preventing it from being submerged, though its limbs were stuck.

Sersi's ability activated again, hardening the previously swampy surface, temporarily trapping the mutant.

However, everyone watching understood that eliminating the mutant this way was unrealistic.

  It would only work temporarily.

Sersi and her group seized this critical moment and began to flee at top speed.

"What was that?" Diane cried out, her worldview shattered, as she ran.

  "Mutants!" Spike shouted.

"You said you'd killed them all!" Diane was speechless.

"You even told him that?" Now it was Sersi's turn to be speechless.

"You believe me?" Spike shouted at Diane.

  "I believe you now!"

In those few short words, the mutant that Sersi had trapped broke free and began to give chase.

Everyone's previous guess was correct; how could such terrifying monsters be dealt with so easily?

What's even more frustrating is that while this monster appears to have only four legs, its body structure is quite peculiar.

It seems to be composed of countless tentacles,

which can be launched out at any time to attack!

This greatly increases the monster's danger. (

  On the screen...)

The mutant quickly caught up, and Sersi knew they couldn't outrun it, so she stopped.

  "Protect Diane!"

Sersi told Spike, then quickly scaled the wall and jumped onto another street.

The plan was to lure the mutants away.

Their agility far exceeded human limits, reaching the level of a super soldier.

Even Captain America was somewhat envious.

At least before undergoing various enhancements for the quiz, Captain America might not have been able to do that.

However, Spike didn't follow Sersi's instructions to protect Diane; she, like Sersi, easily scaled the wall.

It can only be said that the Eternals are indeed Eternals, each one a super soldier.

  On another street,

  *Bang!*

The mutant jumped down from the wall, crushing a car into rubble, and chased after Sersi.

Just as they were about to catch up, countless Sersis appeared on the scene.

Spike stretched out his hand, a strange energy surging around his fingers; undoubtedly, those illusions were created by Spike.

"Loki, I think you and this Spike must have a lot to talk about," Thor couldn't help but laugh at Loki beside him.

The others on the scene also couldn't help but glance at Loki a few more times.

The reason was simple: Spike's abilities were practically identical to Loki's!

"Really?" Loki chuckled, perhaps finding the child much more agreeable for this reason. "She seems like a very intelligent child."

"A child?" Sersi smiled. "Spike, like me, came to Earth thousands of years ago."

In other words, Spike was countless millennia old.

  On the screen,

Spike's method seemed to work; the mutant was indeed confused, unable to distinguish the real Sersi from the illusion.

However, this situation didn't last long.

Just as Spike and Sersi were about to slip away in the chaos, the mutant suddenly found Spike's true form!

  *Whoosh!

  * A tentacle shot out from the mutant, knocking Spike to the ground, then leaped in front of him.

It seemed Spike was about to be killed by the mutant.

But at this critical moment, a blurry shadow flashed by, instantly knocking the mutant away.

It crashed into a roadside shop.

The shadow was so fast that no one at the scene could even see it clearly.

But everyone knew that the figure must be Icarus.

It could only be said that the big boss was indeed a big boss; his move was extraordinary.

  *Whoosh!*

At this moment, two bright lights flashed, striking the mutant and sending it flying out of the shop again, crashing heavily onto the street.

Then, a handsome man in a trench coat leisurely walked out of the shop.

  "Icarus!"

Spike couldn't help but exclaim with joy.

Everyone guessed correctly; the one who had defeated the mutant was indeed Icarus.

What followed was naturally predictable: Icarus began a fierce battle with the mutant—no, more accurately, Icarus began to utterly dominate the mutant.

Although Sersi had long said that Icarus was the strongest among the Eternals, no one had expected him to be this powerful.

This guy can not only fly, but he can also shoot incredibly powerful rays from his eyes, instantly blasting away mutants!

It inflicts devastating damage on them.

"Superman, he's clearly Superman!" Peter Parker couldn't help but exclaim.

He can fly and shoot rays from his eyes—isn't that Superman?

Of course, Icarus's physical strength is also extremely powerful; even after being tackled to the ground by the mutant, he was completely unharmed.

  In short, one word: strong.

However, the mutant also exceeded everyone's expectations. When its forepaws were shattered by Icarus, it actually knew how to heal itself.

And in the blink of an eye, its terrible injuries were completely healed.

This scene made everyone watching on screen shudder. This mutant actually had such a terrifying self-healing ability!

Being that strong is one thing, but to be able to heal instantly—is there no way anyone can survive?

"That shouldn't be the case; mutants don't have this ability,"

Sersi exclaimed, her brows furrowed like an old chrysanthemum blooming in late autumn.

The Eternals and the Mutants were old rivals, having relentlessly hunted the Mutants for tens of thousands of years, and knew the race intimately.

This race simply didn't possess such an ability!

So what was that one on the screen?

Sersi felt a headache coming on.

The others in front of the screen also sensed something was wrong.

Something was definitely amiss. The Mutants, who were supposed to be extinct, suddenly reappearing was one thing, but to possess abilities they didn't have before was just too strange.

  Very, very strange.

Perhaps a terrifying abyss was hidden behind this!

Under the anxious gazes of everyone, the scene on the screen continued.

They saw Icarus completely overwhelming the Mutant, finally forcing it to jump into the river and escape.

At this moment, Icarus descended from the sky, slowly landing in front of everyone.

"Icarus, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Spike rushed forward joyfully, embracing Icarus.

Diane and Sersi walked up to Icarus and greeted him, "I'm Diane."

  "Hello, Diane."

"I bet you're the pilot," Diane said meaningfully.

A commotion arose in the distance. Turning around, they saw several police cars parked a short distance away, and several officers were walking towards them.

Spike waved his hands, activating his ability, and the group suddenly became invisible and vanished.

  The scene froze.

The atmosphere at the scene instantly became extremely somber.

The mutants made everyone present feel breathless, even Cersei, an Eternal, felt the same way.

"Is this the mutant race that feeds on intelligent life and plunges the entire universe into chaos? It's terrifying," Peter Parker said, still shaken.

Even with all his current abilities, he lacked the confidence to fight those monsters.

Of course, Peter Parker's Pig Charm could also fire laser beams, comparable to Icarus, but the mutants' self-healing ability was a major obstacle!

Such beings, unless instantly killed with powerful weapons, would be an endless source of trouble.

"Cersei, didn't the mutants of the past have self-healing abilities?" Captain America asked, staring intently at Cersei.

"No," Cersei shook her head, very certain. "We've been exterminating mutants for so many years, and we've never encountered one like this."

"So, they've evolved?" Tony Stark asked gravely.

"I don't know how it happened," Cersei shook her head, her face filled with deep worry.

"Cersei, since your Eternals once wiped out the Mutants, you must have a very powerful army, right?"

Thor couldn't help but ask from the side.
