Lillian's sudden address caught Grace off guard. Her eyes darted towards Victor, disbelief clear.
"Did she just call me mom?" Grace questioned slowly.
Awkwardly, Lillian rubbed the back of her head, not considering this to be a big deal. Although it took a while for her to address Grace as her mother vocally, she didn't expect the woman would react in this manner.
"That really sounds nice," Grace vocalized. "Dear, call me again."
Lillian's cheek heated up. "Mom, let's go upstairs. It's cold here."

When Lillian returned home the next day, she saw Victor in the living room. In his hand was a novel he casually went through while leaning against the couch, relaxed. Upon noticing Lillian's presence, he raised his head to look at her.
Lillian walked over to him and sat beside him before asking, "What happened with Noah?"
