"Give me a name, Kaya," Veer commanded, his fangs visibly elongating, pressing sharply against his lower lip. "Turn the vehicle around. I do not care if it breaches human law. I am going to find him, and I am going to swallow him whole. I will not even chew. I will let him dissolve slowly in my stomach."
Kaya rolled her eyes, fully prepared for this exact escalation.
"You can't eat him, Veer," Kaya said, her voice entirely deadpan. "That is highly illegal, terrible for your cholesterol, and honestly? You shouldn't be so aggressive toward him. He is family, after all."
Veer froze.
The murderous bloodlust instantly short-circuited. He blinked, pulling his sunglasses down the bridge of his nose to stare at her with profound, unadulterated confusion.
"Family?" Veer repeated, the word completely breaking his train of thought.
"Yes," Kaya nodded seriously, stopping the Maybach at a red light and turning to look directly at him. "I met our son today."
