Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: The miracle they got.

Just as the room seemed to settle into a heavy, defeated quiet, a notification sound broke the stillness.

A blue light illuminated their faces as the same message appeared on both of their screens:

{Would you like to reincarnate into the world of 'Fuck you Bad Ending!'?}

Lisa and Shaun froze, their eyes locked on the glowing screens before them. Their wide-eyed expressions were so exaggerated, it seemed like their eyeballs might pop out of their sockets. The words floating mid-air shimmered with an otherworldly glow, too bright for them to stare at directly for long, yet impossible to look away from.

The word 'reincarnate' burned itself into their minds, sending their thoughts spiraling in a chaotic whirlwind. Confusion, disbelief, and pure exhilaration clashed together, leaving them stunned and breathless. It was as if their brains had hit the pause button, unable to process what they were seeing.

Minutes ticked by, the room eerily silent except for the faint hum of the floating screens. Slowly, the reality of the message began to sink in, and with it came a rush of adrenaline so intense it felt like fireworks bursting inside them.

Then, it hit.

"FUCK YEAH!!!"

Their voices exploded in unison, shattering the quiet. They jumped to their feet, the sofa groaning in protest as they launched themselves into the air. Faces lit with uncontainable joy, they looked at each other with the kind of excitement that only comes from witnessing the impossible.

"This is it!" Lisa shouted, her voice trembling with disbelief and delight.

"A freaking MIRACLE!" Shaun hollered, throwing his arms into the air like he'd just won the lottery.

They laughed, screamed, and even spun around in circles, unable to contain the energy coursing through them. It felt like the universe had just handed them a golden ticket, a chance to dive into the world they had loved, fought for, and obsessed over.

In that moment, all the frustration, all the heartbreak, and all the sleepless nights spent hating on the author vanished. None of it mattered anymore.

They were ready to accept the offer that had suddenly appeared in their lives.

Once they calmed down, Lisa and Shaun locked eyes, their grins stretching ear to ear as they stared at the screen in front of them.

"You ready, Shaun? Don't tell me you're chickening out now~" Lisa teased, her smirk practically dripping with mischief.

Shaun shot her a flat, unimpressed glare. "Are you stupid? I was born ready." His voice brimmed with determination.

Lisa grinned wider. "Alright then. On the count of three, we press it together."

"Three," she started, her voice steady.

"Two," Shaun joined in, his finger hovering over the screen.

"One!" they shouted in unison, slamming their fingers down on the floating buttons with synchronized enthusiasm.

The moment they pressed "Yes," a new message popped up, bright and cheerful, almost mockingly so:

{The truck-kun will arrive in a minute. Please brace yourselves for the impact! Reincarnators .....\(^v^)/}

The twins froze. "Huh?" They stared at the message, their grins replaced by dawning horror.

"What the hell does that mean?!" Lisa shrieked, whipping her head toward Shaun, whose face mirrored her disbelief.

"We're inside a house!" Shaun yelled, pointing wildly at their living room as if logic could shield them from the chaos.

Before they could argue further, a distant roar pierced the air. It started low, like the rumble of an approaching storm, then grew louder....closer.

The twins turned toward the bay window in unison, their stomachs sinking as twin beams of blinding light flooded the room.

"Oh, come on!" Lisa screamed, scrambling backward as the unmistakable screech of a truck's tires echoed through the walls.

"What the— how is this even possible?!" Shaun shouted, his voice cracking in panic.

The truck didn't stop. It plowed through the brick wall like it was made with a bunch of woods, shards of glass, and debris flying everywhere as it charged toward them with unstoppable force.

"HOLY FU—!" Lisa started, but the truck slammed into them before she could finish.

Their world exploded into blinding light and deafening silence.

{Congratulations! You have been successfully reincarnated! Thank you for choosing our service. Have a great new life experience!}

**********

Lisa and Shaun's final memories faded into darkness, only for their consciousness to awaken in a strange, suffocating warmth. Their senses were a chaotic blur, a muffled voice calling out, the press of something tight around them, and then the overwhelming sensation of being thrust into cold, blinding light.

A loud, joyous cheer broke through the haze. "They're here! Both of them!" a man's voice boomed, filled with emotion. The twins barely had a moment to process before gentle but firm hands carefully lifted them, one after the other.

"They're perfect," the midwife said warmly, wrapping the newborns in soft blankets. Her voice carried a sense of pride as she turned to the smiling parents.

The man, their new father, leaned closer, his eyes glistening with tears. "Look at them... Our Luke and Lysandra." His voice cracked with happiness as he gently stroked their tiny heads.

Shaun—though he didn't yet know he was now called Luke—blinked his unfocused eyes, his vision hazy. What's going on? Am I... am I a baby? Panic welled up, but all that escaped his lips was a weak, pitiful wail.

Beside him, Lisa—now Lysandra—felt equally disoriented. Her body felt strange, fragile, and weightless. She wanted to scream, to demand answers, but the sound that emerged was an incoherent whimper.

"Shh, my sweet Lysandra," their new mother cooed, taking them both into her trembling arms. "Welcome to the world, my precious little ones." Her exhausted yet loving smile eased their initial terror.

The midwife chuckled softly. "Strong lungs on these two. They'll be a handful."

The father laughed, his voice shaking with joy. "They already are! But they're ours." His pride was palpable as he kissed his wife's forehead, whispering, "You've done beautifully."

The names struck the twins like thunderclaps. Luke? Lysandra? Shaun and Lisa's identities seemed to crumble under the weight of those new names.

Lisa, now Lysandra, felt a wave of reluctant acceptance settle over her as she curled her tiny fingers around her mother's gown. So... this is my new life?

Shaun, now Luke, felt frustration bubbling beneath his surface. What the fuck is this situation?! But the warmth of their parents' embrace and the joy in the room began to soothe his racing thoughts.

As exhaustion claimed them, the echoes of their parents' laughter and the midwife's congratulatory words lingered in their minds. The warm smile and calming presence of their new mother enveloped them, the weight of exhaustion began to drag their newborn bodies into sleep. Confusion, fear, and a spark of curiosity swirled within them as they drifted off.
