Amber was standing in the hallway, arms crossed, eyes narrowed, staring intensely at somethingāor rather, someoneāahead of her.
Joseph happened to walk by and paused.
Joseph:

"Oh, hi Steve." š

Amber's expression didn't change.
Amber:

A mix of fear and headache.

Before he could finish, an actual Steve walked behind him.

She pointed like a general preparing troops.

Steve, confused but obedient, stepped close.

Soon the three of themāJoseph, Steve, and now Meganāstood in a perfect straight line like soldiers.
Megan:

Steve pointed at Amber.
Steve:

Megan looked at Amber's face.
Amber was tense. Irritated.
Focused like a predator stalking prey.
Megan instantly understood.
Megan:

Amber:
"Good. Now listen. We are doing this EXACTLY as I say." š
Joseph whispered:

"Uhā¦ sisā¦ this plan feels kinda old fashionedā"
Amber shot him a death glare.
Amber:
"Joseph.

Joseph immediately zipped his mouth.
The three stood ready.
Amber exhaled deeplyā¦
eyes locked on Jonathan down the hallwayā¦
and whispered:
Amber:
