Chapter 41 - Black curse

In Front of William's House

Amber stood before the massive, dark mansion, her face calm but etched with subtle emotion. 😐

Joseph: (glancing at her) "Deja vu
it feels like this has already happened." đŸ˜±

Megan: (shivering slightly) "I remember
the last time she came here
 it was terrifying." đŸ˜±

Amber turned toward them, her expression unreadable.

Amber: "Come inside." 😐

Megan & Joseph: "Y-Yes
 sis." đŸ˜±

She pushed open the heavy doors, and the musty air of the mansion greeted them. Each step she took seemed to awaken echoes of the past—the memories of betrayal, pain, and shadows long forgotten.

Amber moved with purpose, heading straight for the library. She pulled a worn, ancient book from the shelf and walked to a neat, tidy room she had clearly prepared for this moment.

She placed the book in front of Megan.

Megan: "Huh
?" đŸ˜¶

Amber: "Read." 😐

All three sat around the table in a circle, the silence of the room punctuated only by the soft rustle of pages.

Megan: "Okay
 let's see." 😅

She began reading aloud, her voice steady but reverent.

"There exists a curse
known both for its darkness and its potential. Many have seen only the sorrow it brings, but its origin is far older and purer. It is the Black Curse. Those who die young, alone, and betrayed—killed for sins they did not commit—carry it. It is rare, precious even. In its essence, it is a blessing
a protection. Yet over time, as the world forgets, it twists into suffering."

Amber glanced at them, her voice soft but commanding.

"In the William family, this curse is frequent. It is tied to another—an ancient curse of loneliness that the eldest children inherit. Together, these curses shape destinies, both tragic and powerful."

Megan, Joseph, and Amber all absorbed the words, the weight of the revelation pressing down on them like the shadows of the mansion itself.

Amber closed her eyes for a moment, letting the past and present converge.

Amber: "Now you understand
the truth behind the pain. But curses are only as strong as those who believe in them." 😐
