Before Mistress Diana, Adela sat down with Edmon by her side like the dutiful puppet he had become. The dark witch watched the water before her stir in an unsettling manner.
"The time is near," she said.
"What time? Time for me to take the throne?" Adela asked, a little too overly excited.
"The throne?" Mistress Diana laughed. "There is no throne-taking in your destiny, my dear."
Adela's face instantly went cold.
"What do you mean there is no throne in my destiny? I am going to marry Edmon, and it is only right for me to rule. I mean, you all don't expect him to rule in such a state, do you?" Adela asked angrily.
Mistress Diana's lips curled slightly upward.
"You come from a clan of rulers, yet you soiled their name. You were given a crown, but you picked the stick… so tell me, Adela, for a princess who never ruled her land, what makes you think you can rule another?"
Adela opened her mouth, but no words came out.
