Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Warborn Legacy in a Modern World The Great War

Before history was written… before the rise of nations and modern power… there existed an age that the world has never truly forgotten—only… questioned.

An age of three realms.

In the beginning, there was only one being—an existence beyond form, beyond understanding. In ancient whispers, it was called Aethernox, the creator of all things.

From its will, reality was divided into three worlds.

The Human Realm.

The Demon Realm.

And the Elven Realm.

Each was granted life. Each was granted power.

For countless centuries, the three realms coexisted in fragile harmony. Gateways connected their worlds, allowing travel, trade, and unity. Though conflict arose at times, balance was never truly broken.

For all races were given strength—not to conquer, but to defend.

But balance… never lasts forever.

Among the three, one race began to evolve at an unnatural pace.

Humans.

They were the weakest. The shortest-lived. The most fragile of all. And yet, they adapted faster than any other race. Their knowledge expanded, their techniques advanced, and their warriors began to reach heights that defied logic.

Some even rivaled beings that had existed for centuries.

Fear spread.

Among demons, it became a threat. Among elves, a disruption of divine order. And slowly, fear turned to envy… and envy turned to resolve.

In secrecy, an alliance was formed.

The Demon Realm.

The Elven Realm.

Their goal was absolute—

To erase humanity… before it surpassed them all.

And so, war began.

Not a simple war. Not a conflict of nations.

But a catastrophe that tore at the very fabric of existence.

The skies burned. The land shattered. Reality itself fractured under the weight of unimaginable power. Entire civilizations vanished in moments. Humanity stood on the edge of extinction.

And yet… they did not fall.

Because one man rose.

A warrior whose power defied reason. A man believed by some to be chosen by the creator itself… and by others, something far more dangerous.

His true name…

…was lost to time.

But history remembers him by a single title:

Aegis.

And he was not alone.

Beside him stood seven warriors—humans who had transcended the limits of their kind. Individuals whose power rivaled Monarchs, whose presence alone could turn the tide of war.

Together, they became humanity's final stand.

They fought for years. Endured losses that shattered nations. Faced enemies capable of destroying entire armies in an instant.

And still… they stood.

The war raged on for decades.

And by its end, reality itself bore scars that would never heal.

Then came the final battle.

The rulers of the Demon Realm descended—the Seven Monarchs, embodiments of destruction, whose names would echo through eternity:

Lucifer

Satan

Beelzebub

Asmodeus

Leviathan

Behemoth

Kael Zar

What followed… was annihilation.

And yet… humanity won.

The Monarchs fell. Their physical forms destroyed, their reign brought to an end. But beings of such magnitude could not truly vanish. Their essence scattered, lingering within the fractures of reality like a curse that refused to fade.

The Elven race, broken by defeat, disappeared soon after. Whether they were wiped out or retreated into the unknown, none could say. Over time, they became legend.

And so, for the first time…

Only one race remained dominant.

Humanity.

In the aftermath of the war, the hero known as Aegis made a final decision.

The gateways connecting the three realms were sealed.

The worlds were separated.

Forever.

Or so it seemed.

For the war had done more than destroy kingdoms.

It had damaged reality itself.

Across the world, fractures began to appear—unstable tears in existence. From these fractures, darkness seeped through.

Portals.

Through them, remnants of the Demon Realm returned.

Creatures of shadow. Echoes of destruction. Fragments of the Monarchs' lingering power.

The war… had never truly ended.

To defend humanity, Aegis established an order—an organization dedicated to hunting demons, sealing fractures, and maintaining what remained of balance.

It was known as The Order of Aegis.

As centuries passed, the world changed… and so did the name.

In the present day, it is known as the GSSA—the Grand Shadow Suppression Association.

Within it exists a ranking system of seven levels, each representing strength and authority.

At the very top stands Rank 7.

Hunters so powerful, so rare, they are regarded as living legends.

In the entire world…

Only four currently exist.

And though the story of the Great War is still widely known, not all believe it.

Some call it history.

Others call it myth.

For the idea that a single human could stand against demons and elves alike…

Is something many find impossible to accept.

Yet even so…

A prophecy remains.

Whispered across generations. Feared by those who understand its meaning.

"When the balance of the world begins to fracture once more…

From the lineage of the forgotten hero, one shall be born.

A vessel of power beyond understanding…

Carrying within them the essence of a fallen Monarch.

And through that existence… the fate of all realms shall be decided."

And somewhere in the present day…

That prophecy…

Is about to begin.
