This place was new. It was a bright, sterile place. The evil people working here gave us a name by subject on level; I was "277". They called me anomalous for being a killer. I will probably be tested on, like the others here. Everyone is seen as more animal than human, and I was just one among many.
I yelled outside the cell to Dr. Lammy, standing outside. "We are human beings; you cannot toy with us. They have rights even though they are guilty." I pounded the glass hard.
"You will get your turn soon, 277." She smiled as a body bag was being transported in a cart behind me. "You see, here we try to evolve people...right after we erase their memory; lobotomy, hard concussion, or we will just force you to forget everything you know, and we have two tools. Sadly, we made no progress since someone survived 8 gunshots to the chest. That means it only took five years to find stronger human endurance."
"Do what you want with me, but just know...you will pay for your actions someday, and God won't give any mercy to you!" I pounded on the glass harder and harder...until my fists bled as the skin began to rip open. I don't know what is making me so aggressive. "What is this? Why am I being so violent?"
"The air you're breathing is making you aggressive. Your body right now is making more adrenaline and testosterone." Said Dr. Lammy. "It can encourage you to escape, so we can hunt you down and kill you; it's all just a big game to us."
"What will this accomplish? You hunt for sport on people? You might think this is some kind of game that you can train us with?" I yelled. "At least tell me about my brothers! I want to see them before I die!"
"I don't have time to have a heart." She checked the time on her watch and entered a code. The door opened, and several guards came to restrain me. "Ok, send him to the gas chamber. Time to shut him up!"
They knocked me hard on the head with the butt of the gun. I felt very little pain since I felt numb. Then they tased me several times. "The hell!? Why aren't you out yet!?" Then one more devastating blow to the head with their gun, hitting me on the head...making everything go dark.
"He has already got high endurance." Said Dr. Lammy.
3 months earlier
"Hehe, I will kill you all when I get out. I feed you to your family while you're still alive!?" Callum said with laughter and anger in his voice. Callum was very sadistic.
He was chained to a wall. Syringe on a table next to him. A professor was studying him behind a desk. He walked over to the syringes and picked one up, then over to Callum.
"Yeah, yeah..I heard it before. Now shut up and calm down." The professor said. He picked up one syringe and extracted blood from Callum. He took his glasses off as he looked closer. "Wow...it's black, like petroleum. So extraordinary."
"I wonder how your blood tastes; Iron and copper. Just like my family. It would be a nice trade." Callum said. He glared at the professor with a smile.
The others came in and put him under. Callum was transported back into a very secure cell. He was marked as dangerous and was to be watched at all times.
Dr. Lammy comes inside the room. She was shown the specimen extracted from Callum. "Professor, you look like you have been busy. What is this stuff?"
"This would be the blood of 034. He possesses extreme strength and durability. I had to get someone to shoot him early to test that. 8 gunshots weren't enough. His body just healed 8 or 9 hours later. The lights flicker around him constantly, and the radios keep having feedback and static. I am beginning to think he is a demon or possessed." Said Prof. Lenin.
"Why is he here? What were his crimes, Prof. Lenin?" Said Dr. Lammy.
"He killed his whole family. First, he poisoned his brother with insecticide, then he cut up his mother and father in their sleep, after they told him they were sick of him. Lastly, he stomped on his 4-year-old baby sister's head until her head cracked open." Prof. Lenin nearly gagged. "He was found in the house drinking their blood, until he was taken into custody," He said.
"How old was he when he did this?" Said Dr. Lammy.
"He started this killing at 17 years old." Said Prof. Lenin.
"I knew it...all of it. This is a pattern. Leon, Callith. They killed their families when they were 17, too. There must be something we don't know. Each of them is planning something." Said Dr. Lammy.
"I want to tell you something else...it's about his strength, the gun wounds, they healed by themselves in 3 days alone. Said Prof. Lenin.
"That's why we need to put 277 under testing next. He already had strength behind his eyes; he handled a taser all by him self...imagine how we can evolve him further, into a greater soldier. It all started with a few, then we sold them to other people for a high price. All we need to do is prove they can fight for special forces." Said Dr. Lammy.
"That's wonderful news, but if you create something even you can contain, you will heed that warning of God that life isn't to be trifled with." Said Prof. Lenin.
"That isn't my concern right now...What I am worried about is what they are planning. Around 17 years ago, each of them was born to three different women; still, we never found a trace of their father. Their DNA only matches the females, which made no sense." Said Dr. Lammy.
"You're saying it as if they reproduced asexually." Said Prof. Lenin.
"I am! None of the cult members claimed to be their father, and dna test couldn't find any match. I think that day, somehow, they could be linked to something else...and it ain't not evil god. It still doesn't explain the fact that they all died at 17 years old." Siad Dr.Lammy.
"I am sure this is all just a coincidence. They no nothing about each other's existence, correct?" Said Prof. Lenin.
"Not that I know of, escape Leon knows since I told him about his brothers...but his memories will soon go.. They we infants when they were separated, so it is unlike that they remember anything from their past." Said Dr. Lammy.
Professor Lenin packed up his bag and walked to the door. "I must leave for a meeting later, as you know...he is also expecting me to make the perfect specimens?" Said Prof. Lenin.
Callum woke up, breathing heavily. "Ahh, my favorite champion, hand in there, your time will be needed soon...but for now, patience, my son!" Called a mysterious voice from deep inside his head.
"Yes. Be in the staff room at 0900."
Callum looked up and smiled into the lights as each one flickered. "Interesting?" Said Callum.
Present day
There I was, in a room with holes in the corners. Each hissed gas out into the air. It was black and smoky. My lungs burned as I gasped for oxygen until it began to dissipate, and I could breathe again.
"What is wrong with you people? Why don't you just finish me off!?" I said. "This is a fate worse than death!"
"Then we would lose such a valuable subject. You could be worth a fortune later in the future, you could be the prototype." Said Dr. Lammy.
The doors opened, and I was taken back to my cell. The air was back, and I could breathe again. I went to the corner of the room and sat with my arms around my legs and my head down. I need to get out of here soon, or I will die.
The next day, someone else had been taken into the facility. The lights flickered as he walked by, surrounded by armed guards; it was Callith, from back at the prison.
Why was his name the same as my brother's? Maybe he was, I mean, he looks like me. Maybe I am just jumping to conclusions. He saw me in there and widened his eyes.
"Wait. What are you doing here? I thought you were back at the prison." I said.
"Oh...it's you, Leon. They took me into this stage place with a bag over my head...must be a hidden base, huh?" Said Callith.
"Keep your mouth shut, no communication." Said the guard.
"Wait...I think you're my brother. I have a brother named Callith and Callum. Your Callith Enix, right?" I said.
His eyes widened, and he looked intrigued. I heard no response back, as he was taken further away from sight. I need to see him again and get both to freedom from this hell. "How does he know my last name?" Said Callith.
