Chapter 42 - Meeting points Part 1,9

He was heavier than any Black Air Raider she'd ever lifted, but she pushed on, forcing her way through fatigue. She glided down to a river straightening her wings like a ship's sail. It didn't have the exact desired effect. She landed lightly but found it impossible to simply stop. She skid on her heels, bouncing with Matthias. The ground gave up just as she slowed, stealing her footing and she landed on her rump with Matthias's own landing on her stomach, her abs were little match against his weight and whatever was in his pockets. She groaned and twisted on her stomach.

"Oh Night, I'm sorry, I never saw that coming."

Heather wheezed, he put a hand over her stomach before producing a handful of the tiniest leaves. They were partly crushed and browned in his pockets but, where time had not aged them, were the brightest of greens. It looked as though it ate the sun's light and vomited it back, offended by the lack of effort, determined to show what real light looked like.

He selected the brightest before pocketing the rest. Fascination forced Heather to forget most of the pain, sucking up the rest.

"Open your mouth."

"What?"

A list of poisons run through her head.

"Open your mouth" he repeated with great patience.

She stared at the leaves, not liking their look. They were fat too, in their own way like an abnormally thick hair. It was holding something. Even the leaf's stem was sunken. Heather shook her head staring into his eyes.

He touched her chin just below her lip with his thumb, pulling softly, she resisted, but he never looked away, never blinked.

She let her jaw drop, him placing it deep on her tongue. It was enough for her to stick it out, he placed seven in a perfect line. The salty edge of his thumb made her want to lick him and but whatever he was doing was way too important to disturb.

She started to lose her breath. A hand still on her stomach, pressing so lightly that every time he stopped moving, she had to look down to see if he'd moved it. His nose was right up to hers.

"Chew. It's a healing herb for exhaustion, you'll love it." He said, delicately running his lips from her hair to his cheek as softly as his hands. The twin effect was mesmerising, everything from the first kiss was breaking new ground. She'd been missing out. General boasting of Nomonda's exploits encompassed her entire knowledge base. The only thing she knew was that someone always had to be on their back.

Never a comfortable position.

He was in complete control and yet she was the one savouring it, taking notes. She chewed until there was nothing. When he spoke, it was as if his voice was in her mind.

When he whispered in her ear, her body trembled. As if her skin were on fire and the very ground were pushing up on her wings, legs and buttocks, burning and stinging her.

Her every item of clothing burned as if made of fiery coal.

She cried out which served to work him up. He pulled her clothing off while ordering she to do to him the same.

She wasn't sure she could stop herself if she wanted to, hunger and greed wouldn't let her. The uniqueness, the exhilaration, bypassed all her defences.
