Chapter 8 - chapter 8

To the driver)

"Take me back to the café. I left it there."

Driver:

"But sir, this will mess up our schedule—"

Damian (firmly):

"My phone is there. Turn the car around. Now."

Driver:

"Yes, sir."

(The car quickly makes a U-turn, heading back to the café.)

(Ella is sitting on a chair, finally resting. Suddenly, the door bangs open and Damian storms in, his muddy shoes dirtying the freshly cleaned floor.)

Ella:

"Not again!" (groans dramatically)

(Damian starts scanning the table, eyes desperate and frantic.)

Ella (irritated):

"Hey! What are you doing? I'm asking you something!"

(He ignores her, still searching. Then, he approaches her.)

Damian:

"Did you see a phone here somewhere?"

Ella (pulling it out of her pocket):

"You mean this one?"

Damian (relieved):

"Yes! Give it to me." (Reaches for it, but Ella pulls it back.)

Ella:

"How do I know it's really yours?"

Damian:

"I know the password."

Ella (smirking):

"So do I. Maybe it's mine."

Damian (challenging):

"Then tell me what it is."

Ella:

"264500."

Damian (shocked):

"How do you—" (stunned because it's correct)

Ella:

"You know, you should be a little more careful when typing your password in front of people."

(She saw it by accident while taking his order.)

Damian:

"Give it back."

Ella (teasing):

"I will. Just say a simple word... sorry."

Damian:

"Why should I?"

Ella:

"For what you did last time."

Damian:

"Never."

Ella (pretending):

"Okay, then I guess it's my phone now. While you were gone, I had a look through your gallery. Found some funny pictures too. Imagine if I post them on your Instagram… If you're even a little famous, I'll go viral instantly."

Damian (panicking):

"You wouldn't!"

Ella:

"My ears are open."

Damian( frustrated)

"Sorry"

Ella (cupping her ear):

"Didn't hear you."

Damian (louder):

"SORRY!"

Ella (grinning as she hands him the phone):

"Here you go."

(Damian snatches the phone and leaves in frustration.)

(It's nighttime. Ella returns home to the small rented house she shares with her best friend, Rey. The place is dark, as usual—Rey often comes back late from her hospital shifts. Ella quietly places her bag down and walks into the kitchen. She cooks dinner, eats alone, and cleans up a bit. Just as she finishes, Rey finally arrives, exhausted, and flops onto the bed.)

Ella:

"You're back."

Rey (groaning):

"Yeah..."

Ella:

"Dinner's ready."

Rey (lifting her head slightly):

"What did you make?"

Ella:

"Your favorite—rice with beans. And some dessert too."

Rey:

"Okay, let me wash up."

(She disappears into the bathroom. A few minutes later, she comes out and sits down at the table.)
