Magellan once again played the role of coroner. He stepped up to Devon's body, carefully examined it, and then nodded, confirming the woman was completely dead.
Kaito walked out of the cell, smiled at Kalifa, and leaned close to whisper in her ear,
"The gift has been secured. I'll give it to you when we get back."
Kalifa froze. She knew Devon was a Zoan-type Mythical Beast Fruit user—specifically, the Nine-Tails Fox Fruit. She had assumed Kaito killed her just to absorb the fruit's power.
After all, a Mythical Zoan is incredibly rare. Beyond the unique abilities that come with the form, the physical enhancements alone are top-tier.
She never expected Kaito would actually give such a valuable Devil Fruit to her. But more than the fruit itself, it was Kaito's gesture that truly touched her.
As Kaito leaned in close, Kalifa couldn't help but plant a kiss on him. Thankfully, they were still inside the prison—and Magellan was nearby.
If this had happened in Kaito's office, her "freedom of action" would've been significantly greater.
Kaito beamed after receiving his secretary's little reward.
In his eyes, it was just a Mythical Zoan. If it could make his secretary happy, it was worth it.
Besides, the transformation effect of the Nine-Tails Fox Fruit meant nothing to him. It was essentially a glorified transformation jutsu.
Even if the fruit had more to it than just transformation, Kaito didn't care.
Kalifa was his. Her powers were his powers. It wasn't like anyone else would benefit.
Behind them, Magellan rubbed his backside and, for a fleeting moment, found himself missing the peaceful times spent in the bathroom.
Unfortunately, his job as a guide wasn't over. Kaito had no intention of letting him off the hook. And if Magellan did insist on going to the bathroom, Kaito had a very special solution in mind.
That solution? Using the Op-Op Fruit to separate Magellan's lower half so his butt could go take care of business, while his upper half floated beside Kaito to continue leading the way—courtesy of his Deva Path powers.
Simple. Effective. Efficient.
Thankfully, Magellan didn't raise the bathroom issue. Otherwise, Kaito really might've performed a live demonstration.
...
Magellan continued leading the way, his expression significantly grimmer than before. But don't get it twisted—it wasn't because he had to poop.
This time, Kaito had ordered him to guide them to a particularly dangerous prisoner: Douglas Bullet, the so-called "Demon's Heir" and former member of the Roger Pirates.
A true all-rounder, Bullet had pushed his physical strength, Devil Fruit ability, and Haki to the brink of perfection.
And naturally, this monstrous powerhouse had already made his obligatory appearance in a movie, giving Luffy a nice chunk of experience points.
Putting movie logic aside, Bullet's strength was undeniably top-tier even in the hellscape that was Impel Down's Infinite Hell. At the very least, he held a solid spot in the top three.
Compared to the tense Magellan, Kaito looked far more relaxed.
Bullet wasn't yet in his prime. He'd been imprisoned for years, heavily suppressed by Seastone. Killing him now would be no harder than crushing an ant.
Even if Bullet were in his prime, he would just end up gifting Kaito another Devil Fruit.
Eventually, with Magellan's heavy steps echoing through the hall, they arrived at Bullet's cell.
This time, Magellan didn't wait for Kaito's instructions. He silently opened the cell door and entered the room with him.
Bullet sat in the shadows, his piercing eyes locked onto Kaito the moment he stepped in.
A sick grin spread across Bullet's face as he shouted in excitement,
"That's right—it's you! I can't believe someone like you actually exists in this sea!"
The moment Kaito entered Infinite Hell and released his aura, Bullet—thanks to his powerful Observation Haki—immediately sensed him.
The overwhelming pressure pouring off Kaito had stunned Bullet on the spot.
He didn't recognize Kaito, but he understood better than anyone in this prison just how terrifyingly strong this man with strange eyes truly was.
To someone like Bullet, who idolized raw strength, this was the ultimate power he sought. He was convinced that not even Gol D. Roger could match the man standing before him.
Kaito's expression didn't change in the face of Bullet's enthusiasm, but he had to admit—this guy was on a completely different level from the last two.
So, for Bullet's execution, Kaito decided to give him a more formal send-off.
He looked at Bullet and said,
"Douglas Bullet. Your execution will be carried out by me, Admiral of the Marine Headquarters—Uchiha Kaito. Do you have any last words?"
As he spoke, Kaito's Rinnegan had already locked onto Bullet. If the guy dared to spout some nonsense like "ONE PIECE is real," Kaito was ready to end him on the spot.
Fortunately, Bullet didn't care about ONE PIECE.
All his focus was on the man in front of him.
He glanced at Kaito's Marine coat and said,
"Admiral? Has the Marine's power grown this much? Not that it matters. If it's you who's going to execute me, then I ask you—end my life with a strike worthy of my name! I don't want to end up like Roger, killed by a pair of nobodies."
Kaito raised an eyebrow. As expected of a power-obsessed maniac—he wanted to die by the hands of someone strong, even if it meant death itself.
If Bullet ever found out he got defeated in a movie by a Luffy who couldn't even use Advanced Conqueror's Haki, who knows what kind of face he'd make.
Kaito thought about it for a moment. Bullet probably did deserve a proper send-off.
He turned to Magellan and said,
"Warden Magellan, I plan to take this man into a separate space. My attack might cause irreparable damage here."
Magellan agreed without hesitation. He wasn't worried about Kaito letting Bullet escape. In fact, if Kaito wanted to set Bullet free, there probably wasn't anyone in the entire prison who could stop him—not even if they all teamed up.
After receiving Magellan's symbolic nod of approval, Kaito gave Kalifa a quick glance and then opened the Door-Door space, gesturing for Bullet to enter.
Bullet stepped through, and Kaito followed.
The Door-Door portal closed behind them, leaving behind a stunned Magellan and a Kalifa who couldn't tear her eyes away from where the portal had just disappeared.
