Chapter 493 – Red Sea
Sabine sat in the middle of the room. The headless body of little Kaden to her right, and the body of Orien to her left.
And on her lap, soaked in blood, she held the boy's head, his eyes wide open, the pain of having his head torn from his neck still frozen there with overwhelming intensity.
Something was still alive in those dead eyes, despite everything.
The dead were not supposed to carry emotion. Yet Sabine found more feeling in those dead eyes than she herself was capable of producing.
It irritated her deeply. Especially when she thought about the events that had brought all of this to pass.
The events that had made her what she was now. The events that had broken her completely.
