"The world of No Game No Life... and six thousand years ago, no less?" Hearing that, the version of Su Mo from the Fairy Tail world took in a sharp breath. "You actually survived in such a harsh environment? And even became the last leader of humanity? That's honestly impressive!"
His admiration was heartfelt. In a world driven by madness, ruled by god-like beings, to survive with the fragile body of an ordinary human—and even lead a settlement of people—was nothing short of incredible. Regardless of whether this newcomer brought with him any supernatural powers, just his achievements alone earned him the respect of the others.
"Truly worthy of being me. Always reliable when it counts," Su Mo from the A Certain Magical Index world nodded approvingly. To thrive in a world where death could strike at any moment and where there was no real sense of security, this level of tenacity was remarkable. Even without power, the newcomer's sheer willpower marked him as an exceptional individual. The others also voiced their agreement, nodding in recognition.
The new Su Mo couldn't help but joke, "Honestly, I can't tell if you're all trying to praise me… or just yourselves." To that, Su Mo from the Pokemon World replied cheerfully, "Well, we're all Su Mo, aren't we? If you're amazing, then that means we're all amazing! So yeah—we're awesome." The others chimed in with laughter and enthusiastic agreement.
"Fair point," the newcomer conceded with a nod. After all, without the others' power, he wouldn't be where he was now. They weren't just counterparts—they shared fate, rising and falling together.
"But seniors, do you have any advice for my next steps?" he asked sincerely. Although they all shared the same strength and knowledge thanks to the collective connection, different versions of the same person might still come up with different perspectives when facing the same problem. These Su Mos had arrived before him and were undoubtedly more familiar with the current situation. Hearing his question, the others fell into deep thought.
The war god Artosh was undoubtedly powerful—perhaps not at the level of Magic gods, but certainly on par with the full-powered Fiamma of the Right. As the god of the concept of [War], Artosh had long since reached a pinnacle. He wasn't limited by raw power. As long as he had strong opponents, his power would rise to match—and surpass—them. It was a terrifying conceptual ability. Much like Light of the Right from the Index world, his strength didn't come from energy but from principle. Simply becoming stronger wouldn't be enough to defeat him.
"In the original story, didn't they deal with Artosh by stripping his divine essence?" suggested Su Mo from the Fairy Tail world. "Even though we haven't mastered that specific ritual, we do have the sword that can seal godhood." He was referring to the golden sword of Verethragna—a divine weapon capable of severing all powers related to divinity. It wove wisdom into words and sealed godhood. Against someone like Artosh, whose divinity was straightforward and conceptually pure, it would be especially effective.
Unlike the gods of the Campione world, who wore many mythological identities, the gods in the No Game No Life universe were born from concepts. For example, if someone created a concept like the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and it gained divine essence, then that god would exist.
Artosh, as the god of [War], was a perfect embodiment of that concept. And in this world, divine essence—or "Ether"—was quite similar to the idea of godhood. Since the golden sword could seal godhood, it stood to reason it could also strip divine essence.
"In theory, yes. But the problem is, how do we ensure the sword actually strikes the war god?" Su Mo from the Index world interjected. Even if they possessed the ultimate divine-sealing weapon, it was meaningless if it didn't land a blow. Artosh could likely counter it. After all, even Doni—another Campione—could use the power of the Ripping Silver Arm to slash apart the golden sword itself. Artosh, being far stronger, could definitely do the same. His combat skill was surely top-tier. Deflecting the sword wouldn't be difficult for him. If the golden sword was their trump card, it could succeed—but it also risked being neutralized. It would be dangerous to hinge everything on a single move.
"It's best to have a backup plan." As he said this, he noticed Su Mo from the Fairy Tail world looking at him.
"What?" he asked, puzzled.
"Speaking of backup plans, the only thing I can think of that might go toe-to-toe with the war god is your Light of the Right technique," the Fairy Tail version said. "Artosh represents the strongest concept—so he always becomes stronger. But Light of the Right adjusts its power based on the opponent. I'm really curious what happens if those two forces collide."
Once you reach that conceptual level of combat, things get interesting. Both forces claimed superiority by design—one that said 'I will always be stronger,' and one that said 'I will become as strong as necessary to win.' If both started feeding off each other in a feedback loop, who knows? Maybe it would escalate to a universe-ending clash.
"It probably won't go that far," Index-world Su Mo shook his head, smirking. "Because before that happens, our bodies would collapse under the strain."
Although the "Light of the Right" technique didn't have a definitive upper limit in power, it still required a continuous supply of mana. And if that output couldn't keep up, then naturally, the power would be limited. In other words, even if he had the Light of the Right, there was no guarantee it could secure a win against Artosh.
"Still," the Su Mo from the Ultraman Tiga world chimed in, "even if it can't guarantee victory, maintaining a prolonged stalemate using Light of the Right shouldn't be too hard."
"If you can fully master the technique," he continued, "and then use its power to go head-to-head with Artosh, while waiting for the right opportunity to strike with the golden sword… the odds of winning would be significantly higher." Essentially, it would be a dual-pronged strategy — one straightforward and one unconventional. They'd prepare two forces as contingencies for the battle. And if all else failed, there was still the final trump card — the Tiga: Cosmic Corona form. Hearing all of this, the Su Mo from the No Game No Life world fell into contemplation for a few minutes before raising his head, eyes filled with admiration.
"As expected of the seniors — truly reliable."
"If I can bait Artosh into releasing a divine strike at the start of battle, our chances would definitely rise even further." He gave their words careful thought and came to the conclusion that the plan was highly feasible. No matter how powerful Artosh was, he was ultimately a deity confined to a single world. With so many overwhelming powers on their side, taking him down should be possible.
"Once Artosh is defeated, I'll obtain the Star Grail and completely reshape the world!" Su Mo exhaled deeply, determination in his voice. "And then, humanity will finally have a future." As the leader of humanity, Su Mo naturally bore a heavy sense of duty — shaped by his personal experiences. After all these years of struggle, the light at the end of the tunnel had finally appeared. Of course, he'd feel a sense of relief. At this point, he grew curious.
"I wonder… once I obtain the Star Grail, will its power be shareable?"
The Star Grail — the throne of the One True God — was a conceptual device that granted absolute dominion over the world. Whoever possessed it would hold the sovereignty to alter the entire world according to their desires. Its power, in fact, far exceeded even that of Magic Gods. While the Magic Gods in the Index world could alter the world, they lacked the ability to revert those changes. The Star Grail's wielder, however, could essentially perform any act of creation or destruction.
"If that power could be shared," Su Mo mused with growing excitement, "then we'd basically become collectively invincible."
