"Y-Yunyun, did you misspeak?"
"R-right, you meant to say Shichen-san is Megumin's man, didn't you?"
"Th-that must be it…"
"No, it isn't!"
Yunyun cut them off, marched to Shichen's side, and wrapped herself around his arm, holding on tight.
"Shichen is my man," she declared, locking eyes with Arue and the others with absolute seriousness.
"…"
"Um, Shichen-san… you're not some bad guy, right?" Funifura asked.
"Do I look like one?" Shichen said with a smile.
"No… but then why are both Megumin and Yunyun saying you're their man?"
"It's simple. They both like me, and I like them both."
"I see…" Funifura nodded.
"Hold on—doesn't that mean you're dating both of them at the same time?" Dodonko said.
"That's right."
"No way… and the two of them are okay sharing a boyfriend? Shichen-san, are you some kind of big deal?"
"Hmph~ Shichen's already taken out several Demon King Generals. He's going to beat the Demon King too!" Megumin said proudly.
"Mhm! Shichen's the strongest!" Yunyun chimed in.
"I get it. If Shichen-san's that amazing, it makes sense…"
"And he's so handsome…"
The two girls glanced shyly at Shichen, as if they now understood Megumin and Yunyun.
"Quit staring at Shichen. You two don't stand a chance," Megumin said, lifting a hand to block their view of his face.
"Ugh!"
"What are you so smug about? Looking like that, Shichen-san probably only likes you like a little sister!"
"Heh~"
"No need to worry," Megumin said with a cool smile. "Shichen likes me as a woman. He's already spoken to my parents and they approve. He's been staying at my house for days. We even bathed together at the hot springs, and lately we sleep together every night. I'm in his arms, one futon. We move around under the covers—pretty much that level!"
"No way…"
Funifura and Dodonko staggered back, stunned.
"I'm not some charm-less girl like you two. Shichen likes my type," Megumin said, lifting her chin in triumph.
"T-that's not how it should be…"
"How can this be…"
They didn't want to accept it.
Megumin answered with nothing but a cold little laugh. "Heh~"
"No—!"
"Waaah! S-so what if you've got a man! So he's a little strong and a little handsome, big deal!"
"Yeah! I-I'm not jealous! Not jealous at all—!"
They left those words behind, then ran off in tears of envy.
"That's it?" Megumin sniffed, unimpressed.
"Is that how you treat friends?" Shichen said, giving her a swat on the butt.
"I'm just telling the truth!" Megumin shot back, unbothered.
"Careful they don't spread this all over the village."
"So what? What, are you scared?" Megumin countered.
"What would I be scared of?"
"Exactly."
"Yunyun, you okay with this too?"
"No problem," Yunyun said with a shake of her head.
"Alright… that's enough for today. Let's pack up and head back."
"I've wanted to go back. Crimson Demon Village is boring—Axel's way more fun."
"I think so too."
"You two… this is your hometown, you know."
…
That evening, after dinner with Hyoizaburoo and the others, Shichen took everyone back to the villa in Axel. He even left some money with Megumin's parents—consider it a bride-price; money didn't mean much to him anyway.
"Phew—home is best~"
"Totally. Let's not do overnights elsewhere anymore."
"Agreed~"
Back at the villa, Aqua and the rest flopped onto the sofa like they'd been doing heavy labor—despite having basically rested the last few days.
"I'm heading to my room," Frieren said, and went straight to Shichen's room. No prizes for guessing—she'd be face-down on the bed with a manga.
"You lot, why are you like this the moment we get home?" Shichen sighed, looking at the pile of girls.
"Shichen, I'm exhausted," Aqua said.
"Exhausted my foot. Haven't you been playing at Megumin's this whole time?"
"Playing is tiring too—and I kept Komekko entertained."
"Weren't you having the time of your life?"
"No way~"
"Up. Shower. Early to bed. I've got something to talk about tomorrow."
"What is it? Can't you say it now?"
"No. And it's important," Shichen said, face serious.
"Really?"
Seeing that, they sat up. It wasn't often they saw him like this.
"Then let's sleep early," Yunyun said.
"Yeah—Shichen, you too."
"I'm not tired at all. I'm full of energy," Darkness said, excited.
"Okay," Shichen nodded and walked off.
"Eh? That's it? …Actually, that's nice too. Mmm~"
"Darkness, get over here," Megumin called, exasperated. "Coming!"
Shichen had no plans to bathe with them. He went to his room first, told Frieren about tomorrow's plan, and read manga with her for a while. Frieren didn't mind—she wasn't the one making plans; she'd just follow along. As long as there were manga.
They read past midnight; then Shichen showered. Afterward, he didn't go back to his room—he went to Yunyun's.
Time to keep a promise.
Her room was quiet and pitch-black; she was already asleep. Shichen didn't wake her immediately; he climbed onto the bed first. The sheets smelled like her—relaxing and sweet.
Maybe she'd just fallen asleep, or maybe he made too much noise—Yunyun stirred awake.
"Shichen?" She opened her eyes, unsure.
"It's me," he said with a smile.
"Eh? It is you? Why are you here?" Yunyun sat up, excited.
Shichen squeezed her smooth cheek, amused. "Did you forget our promise that night?"
"Promise… y-you mean… to continue where we left off?" Yunyun's eyes sparkled.
"Sound like you're looking forward to it," he teased.
"Mhm!" she nodded without a shred of reserve.
"Yeah? Then don't cry later," he tapped her cute nose.
"Cry? Why?" she blinked.
"Because it'll hurt."
"Right… the book said it does hurt."
"Scared?"
"Hmph~ not a chance."
"Keep that same energy later."
"So… do we start now?" she asked, brimming with anticipation.
"…You little minx. I'll indulge you," Shichen said, tapping her forehead and undoing her sleepwear.
The room seemed washed in moonlight. Yunyun wasn't wearing any "basic gear" to bed. Shichen, for his part, had only a robe on.
"Shichen…" Yunyun swallowed, taking in his defined frame and hard abs.
"Yunyun…" He drew her into a slow embrace, skin to skin, and kissed her. She wrapped her arms tight around him and kissed back.
The slick, wet sounds were crystal clear in the quiet room.
After a long while they parted. While she caught her breath, he moved lower—neck, collarbone—without laying her down yet.
"Mm~" Yunyun flushed scarlet, closed her eyes, and tilted her head back, holding him close.
After a while, he started down again—across her stomach to her navel—without stopping. Her belly was soft and silky-smooth.
"Shichen!" Yunyun gasped, staring down at his head, excitement surging.
"What is it?" he looked up with a teasing smile.
"T-that's…"
"It's okay."
"Mmm…" She clapped a hand over her mouth.
Shichen smiled and… got to work.
It wasn't long before Yunyun cried out and slumped back, dazed. Shichen straightened, lips glistening, and looked down at her gently. "Ready?"
"Mm." Yunyun, hazy-eyed, nodded.
A soft, stifled moan followed.
…
The next day at lunch, after they'd eaten, Shichen finally brought up business.
"You remember when I was away before?"
"Yeah. Where did you go, Shichen? Why were you gone so long?" Megumin asked.
"Want to know? How about coming with me?"
"Eh? You're leaving again? How long this time?"
"Probably a while."
"Then I'm definitely coming."
"Me too!"
"Me three!"
"Heh—you all said yesterday you weren't going anywhere," Shichen said, shaking his head with a smile.
"That was yesterday's me. What's that got to do with today's me?" Megumin grinned.
"That's our Megumin. In that case, let's head out right away."
"In such a hurry?"
"Yep. Go change."
"Okay… By the way, why is Yunyun so radiant today?"
