Korey Henry sat on the wooden bench, chest still heaving, a bottle of isotonic drink shaking in his hand.
He looked up as Nate Sutton walked past and gave him a tired but triumphant fist bump. No words were needed, the assist and the finish were already etched in the team's memory.
In the corner, Paul Pogba carefully peeled off his soaked tape. He looked surprisingly fresh for someone who had just controlled a cup game. He saw Kieron lying on the floor, legs up against the lockers to ease the burn, and gave him a slow, approving nod.
Max leaned against the wall, arms crossed, letting the team enjoy the moment. "Today was about patience and smart play," he said, calm but commanding. "You showed that you don't need everyone on the pitch to take control. That's maturity."
