Chapter 267 - Chapter 267: Wang Dong'er Has a Nightmare

Chapter 267: Wang Dong'er Has a Nightmare

It was obvious that the God-given soul ring crystal condensed by Lin Qinghan had drawn most of its energy from spiritual power.

Even though Lin Qinghan had done his best to control the conversion of spiritual energy—going so far as to inject the equivalent of an Extreme Douluo's soul power—the resulting crystal still emanated a strong spiritual aura.

While God-given soul rings were known for adapting to their user's body and martial soul, it was clear that the soul skill created from Lin Qinghan's crystal would likely have spiritual properties.

But that wasn't a bad thing. For a defense-type soul master, it could result in spiritual defense soul skills. For an assault-type or other types, it would still yield skills tailored to their attributes—with a likely spiritual affinity.

Since spiritual attributes were exceptionally rare among soul masters, the apparent "flaw" in the crystal was actually a potential advantage.

As for the soul power consumed—it wasn't Lin Qinghan's total reserve. By now, most of it had already recovered.

> "This is a good harvest. I won't even need to hunt for my next soul ring."

With a casual wave, Lin Qinghan crushed the ninety-nine-year God-given soul ring crystal and stored away the other two, stepping down from the altar.

> "I didn't expect you to pick up God-given soul ring condensation that quickly. No wonder you weren't fazed at all when you found out about Dong'er's identity. With talent like yours…"

Niu Tian's tone carried both admiration and envy. If he'd had even a tenth of Lin Qinghan's ability, he wouldn't have ended up so oppressed by Tang San.

At the same time, Niu Tian began to understand why Lin Qinghan was so confident about going up against Tang San. With this level of talent, even just comprehending rule power could lead to reaching God King level in a matter of decades, not centuries.

And that was just what Lin Qinghan had revealed—he was likely hiding even more outrageous capabilities.

> "It was just a fluke. I'm heading out with Dong'er now. If Tang San comes looking, remember to play along realistically."

Lin Qinghan waved off the compliment. Condensing a God-given soul ring was a basic skill for gods above third-level. He didn't see it as a huge achievement.

For him, it simply made getting soul rings easier. Even a true million-year soul ring now wouldn't significantly increase his combat power—it would just enhance his spiritual power, which wasn't his current focus.

Most of his strength came from spiritual power and rule comprehension. His soul power was still only at the triple-core peak, not yet at divine level.

After saying his goodbye, a flash of silver light swept through the air as Lin Qinghan returned to Wang Dong'er's room.

---

Meanwhile, back in the main hall:

> "Brother," Titan asked seriously, "with someone like Lin Qinghan… how much hope does he really have to succeed in the end?"

Usually brash and outspoken, Titan now wore a rare expression of serious contemplation. Lin Qinghan's abilities were beyond comprehension, and if Titan wasn't always so casual, he'd be deeply troubled.

> "If the time left is the same as before—just eight years—then no matter how talented Lin Qinghan is, the odds are slim. But… if we're talking decades, or if he manages to inherit a divine position, then the chances grow significantly."

---

In Wang Dong'er's room—

She slowly awakened not long after Lin Qinghan had left. Wrapped in a soft nightgown, she sat quietly by the window, gazing at the sea of clouds outside.

She'd had a strange dream the night before.

In it, a man appeared and claimed to be her father. His face was twisted and terrifying, as if he were performing some kind of ritual on her.

Then, a soul-wrenching pain surged through her body—as though her very soul was being torn apart. She screamed, pleaded, begged for mercy.

But her "father" didn't even flinch.

He continued to chant, activating some terrible magic circle.

Her vision blurred. Her consciousness began to split into two perspectives—two versions of herself. Then, just when things seemed to reach the breaking point, Lin Qinghan appeared in her dream.

He descended like a god of salvation, blasting the twisted figure into countless fragments with a single strike.

Afterward, Lin Qinghan sent a lightning bolt toward her—not to harm, but to heal.

As the lightning struck, the soul-piercing pain vanished, and her two split perspectives merged back into one.

She had wanted to run into his arms, but then—shockingly—another her appeared, identical in every way, and she beat her to it, embracing Lin Qinghan first.

Wang Dong'er couldn't remember what happened after that. She had woken up soon after.

---

> "Dong'er, you're awake? We should go."

A silver light flickered, and Lin Qinghan materialized beside her.

> "Okay… let's go."

Wang Dong'er didn't hesitate. She quietly stepped forward and hugged Lin Qinghan, but unlike her usual playful or teasing self, this time she just held onto him silently.

This made Lin Qinghan feel a little out of sorts.

> "Did you have a nightmare?"

He gently took her by the arm, pulling her in front of him, and saw that the normally energetic Wang Dong'er looked subdued and a little pale.

At first, Wang Dong'er wanted to keep her dream to herself. But after Lin Qinghan asked, she couldn't hold it in and told him everything.

> "Hey, Qinghan… if someone who looked exactly like me appeared one day… what would you do?"

The first part of the dream hadn't made much sense to her, so she didn't think about it too much. But the appearance of another her in the dream left a lingering discomfort.

> "You don't have any sisters, so how could someone who looks just like you appear? Don't overthink it."

Lin Qinghan gently stroked her light blue hair, his voice warm and reassuring.

He suspected that the dream had been triggered by the events of that morning. Considering Wang Dong'er's traumatic background, it made sense that she might dream about her father and such painful imagery.

But her question about someone who looked like her gave him pause.

Back when Huo Yutong and the auspicious beast were undergoing attribute guidance in the undead demiplane, there was no indication that the auspicious beast had Tang Wutong's soul.

At least not yet…
