Synopsis
Five years ago, Angelo Nobell was more than just an addictive gamer — he was a legend of the virtual world Life Without End. Under the name Angelo Fool, he ascended to the throne of Pelegon, the main European server — a realm where gods, demons, and humans clashed for dominion. There, he became known as the Bloody Emperor, a being who surpassed the very gods and rewrote the laws of that world. Even the five leaders of the greatest clans bowed before his order, for his will alone dictated the balance between chaos and creation. But such power came with a price. That world nearly devoured his soul, twisting an innocent child into a cold and merciless ruler — a king trapped within his own digital empire. Only one person managed to pull him out of that abyss — his mother, the woman who loved him with all her heart. She was the only light strong enough to reach through the storm of madness and remind him of what it meant to be human. Through her, Angelo left the world of endless death and entered the pure battlefield of chess — a realm of reason, order, and equilibrium. But fate never truly lets go. One quiet day, his mother finds a brochure — an announcement from the creators of Life Without End. They are offering a one-million-dollar reward for an exclusive interview with the long-lost legend… the player once known as Angelo Fool.

Chapter 1 - My Guardian Angel

The world runs on chess. And chess reflects the world.

Another win flashed on Angelo's screen.

Seventeen. Chess prodigy. Half a million dollars from a Zurich tournament last month. Tonight — six and a half out of seven. Two thousand dollars prize.

Not bad.

Tea steamed beside a plate of macarons.

"Still sweeter than winning," he muttered.

"Angelo? I'm home!"

"Yeah, Mom. One second."

He shut down the computer and stepped into the hallway.

Maria was taking off her coat. She smiled when she saw him.

He hugged her quietly.

"How was your day?"

"Tournament. I won."

"Score?"

"Six and a half."

She nodded, pleased. "That's my boy."

"I stopped by a new patisserie," she said. "Brought you chocolate cake."

She handed him the box. Elegant. "Sweet Paradise." An angel on the lid.

He gave a faint smile.

He put the kettle on.

For now, everything was calm.
