Chapter 120 - Scythe Bone King

The Hollow World – First Layer

The desert stretched endlessly under a false sun that burned like molten brass.

The ground was scorched and dry, black gravel crunching under the claws of thousands of creatures.

To the horizon, the plain shimmered like a furnace.

And within that desolation, war had begun.

A thunderous chorus of roars shattered the silence.

The Skeleton Lizard horde, pale as ash and armored in jagged bone, surged across the dunes.

Opposite them, the Jurassic Alliance advanced in disciplined ranks, raptors, stegosaurians, tyrants, and dragons moving as one under Miraluz's banner.

The earth itself seemed to tremble under their charge.

At the front, King Kong led the vanguard, swinging his massive double-headed axe.

Each strike sent bone and dust flying as he smashed his way through the first wave of Skeleton Monitors.

The monsters' serrated claws raked against his hide, but his muscles, now reinforced with Titan Essence, shrugged them off like thorns.

Another lizard lunged. Kong spun, bringing the axe down in a brutal arc.

"Pick head!" he bellowed.

The blade connected with a wet crack, splitting the creature's skull clean in two.

Before the corpse even hit the ground, another lunged at his flank.

Kong ducked low and twisted, the move Miraluz himself had taught him.

He slashed upward with the axe, tearing open the creature's jaw.

"One for teeth," he grunted, eyes blazing.

"And one—"

He flipped the weapon in his grip, striking backward without looking.

The blade cleaved through a third attacker's ear-like crest.

"For ears."

Three moves. Three kills.

Across the dunes, Grey soared through the smoky air, her six wings slicing the updrafts with precision.

"Kong's cleared the left flank!" she roared telepathically.

"Keep the formation tight, suppress their front lines!"

A cluster of red-backed monitors leaped to intercept her, spines glowing crimson.

Grey's eyes flashed, she emitted a burst of prismatic light, blinding the enemies midair.

As they thrashed wildly, she released a barrage of rainbow plasma beams, cutting them down one by one.

"Flash radiation successful," she muttered.

"Targets neutralized."

Below, the four Jurassic Dragon Generals coordinated the ground assault, armored spinosaurids, ankylosaurs, and genetically fused carnosaurs that moved like living tanks. Every formation shift was timed to perfection.

Miraluz's army had become a machine of war.

Yet even machines falter when faced with chaos.

From the main nest ahead, a fortress of bones and magma, came the true tide. Hundreds of Skeleton Lizards poured out, their hollow roars shaking the plain.

Dust turned to storms, and the horizon itself seemed to collapse under their sheer numbers.

"Hold your ground!" Grey shouted.

Lines of Dilophosaurs spat toxic clouds, melting through waves of smaller lizards.

One of them lunged too far, dragging down a Dilophosaurus and biting through its neck.

Blood spattered the sand, but two more swooped from above, their wings unfurling as they sprayed paralytic venom.

The Skeleton Lizard froze mid-motion, eyes wide in agony.

Seconds later, the twin Dilophosaurs pounced, tearing it apart piece by piece.

Its bones scattered like shards across the wasteland, only to be crushed beneath the charging ranks of raptors behind them.

Everywhere, the same grim ballet repeated, attack, counter, death.

"Forward!" roared King Kong.

"Don't stop!"

Grey dove again, wings beating hard.

"Miraluz, we're holding them, but there are too many!"

"Endurance wins wars," came the Dragon God's calm voice across the mental link.

"Keep your focus."

He hovered high above the battlefield, his vast wings casting a shadow that swallowed the desert.

His gaze swept across the chaos, reading movement, momentum, morale. His army fought like veterans, but even they were beginning to tire.

The ground beneath him shuddered.

A sound like cracking mountains echoed through the valley.

Then the sand erupted.

From the depths of the main nest, the Supreme Skeleton Lizard emerged.

It rose like a nightmare from the bones of its kin, a colossal shape crowned in crimson spines, eyes burning with Alpha fury.

Its jagged form scraped the clouds, every movement accompanied by the grinding sound of shifting bone.

The Scythe-Bone King had joined the war.

The air itself warped under its Alpha pressure.

Even the hardened dinosaurs faltered, their instincts screaming in primal terror.

The lizard's roar tore through the sky, shaking the foundations of the Hollow World.

Grey faltered midair. King Kong dropped to one knee, his axe trembling in his grip.

And then, a sound like thunder split the heavens.

A dragon's roar.

Miraluz descended from the clouds, wings unfurled in radiant defiance.

The sheer force of his presence swept across the battlefield, shattering the Skeleton King's oppressive aura.

His eyes blazed silver-white, meeting the red glare of the Alpha below.

"Stand firm, my kin!" he roared.

"This is our world now!"

The morale of the Jurassic Alliance surged instantly.

The battlefield erupted with renewed fury, roars, screeches, and battle cries shaking the desert as the final confrontation began.

The Scythe-Bone King answered with a hiss that could split stone.

Bones rose from the ground, twisting into jagged spikes aimed toward the heavens.

Miraluz folded his wings and dove.

The first impact between dragon and lizard sent a shockwave tearing through the desert, flattening dunes and scattering soldiers alike.

Lightning crackled around Miraluz's body as he raked his claws across the Alpha's skull.

The lizard retaliated, swinging its scythe-tail in a wide arc.

Miraluz barely ducked under it, countering with a burst of atomic energy that scorched the creature's armor.

The Supreme Lizard howled and slammed its claws into the ground, summoning pillars of bone that erupted like spears.

"Clever," Miraluz muttered.

"But predictable."

He twisted midair, using the updraft from the explosions to spin behind the enemy.

With a roar, he slammed into the creature's back, driving it down into the sand.

The battlefield froze for a moment, every eye locked on the two Alphas locked in combat.

Then chaos returned.

Grey led the aerial units in bombing runs, distracting the smaller lizards.

King Kong took advantage of the confusion, swinging his axe into the exposed flank of the Skeleton Legion's leader caste.

"For the Dragon God!" he bellowed, splitting another Titan in half.

But even victory had a cost.

From the Scythe-Bone King's shattered ribs, new bones began to grow, faster than before, sharper, denser.

The monster twisted its head and fired a barrage of bone spikes into Miraluz's chest, each impact exploding like artillery fire.

Miraluz staggered back, smoke curling from his wounds.

For the first time in months, he bled.

The Supreme Skeleton Lizard rose to its full height, spreading its blade-like spines.

"Dragon," it hissed in an ancient tongue, "You trespass upon my kingdom."

Miraluz's eyes narrowed.

"Then I'll make it your tomb."

The two titans lunged again. Claws met scythes, atomic fire met bone storms.

The desert became a crucible of destruction.

High above, Grey watched the battle unfold, her heart pounding.

"He's holding back," she realized.

"He's testing it…"

"Yes," Kong replied, voice strained.

"He wants to know how strong it truly is."

Below, Miraluz roared, unleashing a storm of energy that illuminated the sky.

The Supreme Lizard answered in kind, summoning a wall of bone to block the blast, the collision erupting into a shockwave that flattened everything within miles.

The sand turned to glass.

When the smoke cleared, both titans still stood.

Blood dripped from Miraluz's claws.

One of the Skeleton King's scythe spines had been shattered.

The first round was over. Neither had yielded.

Miraluz's chest rose and fell slowly as he stared at his enemy.

"Good," he growled.

"Finally, something worthy."

Far above, unseen by either combatant, deep fissures formed in the Hollow World's ceiling, cracks connecting to the crust above.

Energy readings spiked across Monarch's instruments.
