Contrary to how he thinks and what he believes, John was always known for being a patient person.
He was patient at work, with people he'd just met, and sometimes with his family. It was only with his few really close friends that he decided to express himself and speak openly about his opinions and feelings.
At work, he came across as a very composed and tolerant person, mostly because he always did what he was told and never complained.
There was this one time, however, when he just completely blew up and apparently started yelling at his boss about a whole lot of things.
Some people swore they heard him throw out insults at the boss without even flinching, while others said he froze mid-rant when he saw his boss giving him a threatening look. What actually happened that day, nobody knew but him and their director.
But, as a result of the scene he caused, he became even more tolerant, which is why everyone started treating him however they pleased.
