Edmund's POV
My stomach tied in a knot and my jaw clenched. Cold sweat formed beneath my thighs where the leather chair met. My hands trembled on my face as the very thought of wanting to murder my nephew with my own hand lingered. I could not believe I had openly chosen to lose myself right in front of her eyes. Again.
If only that arrogant brat would stop using such foul language about her, I would have been able to avoid all this nonsense.
The heck was he to talk about fixing someone. No wonder Maisie is as she is. With those choices of words, even anyone would believe they are broken! No matter how many times I tried to tell myself to take a deep breath, the murderous intent simply would not fade away.
The only reason I stayed rooted in place was because of her. My fear of losing her. For hurting her ex. My fear that she would find me frightening and leave. Or if my actions cause heavy repercussions in our relationship. I shuddered at the thought.
