Chapter 40 - Partnership and Responsibility

It had been a few days since the grand opening of Amana Superstore. The excitement had started to settle, but the business itself was blooming. Every day brought new customers, smiles, and success. But behind the scenes, another important discussion was unfolding—one that would shape the future of the superstore and its management.

One pleasant evening, as the family sat together sipping chai on the terrace, Rimsha looked towards Maryam and said softly, "Aapi, I was thinking… you've worked equally hard on Amana Superstore. I don't think it's fair that your name isn't included in the ownership."

Maryam smiled gently, "But Rimsha, this was your father's place. I only helped because you're my sister, and I wanted to see you stand on your own feet."

Haroon, who had been quietly listening, suddenly chimed in, "She's right, Maryam. We've been thinking about this too. That's why we both want you to agree to turn Amana Superstore into a partnership between you and Rimsha. Equal ownership. Equal rights."

Maryam was surprised, "Are you both sure?"

Rimsha nodded, "Very sure. I don't want to do this alone."

And so it was decided. The next day, legal papers were drawn. The Amana Superstore, which was once solely Rimsha's, was now a registered partnership between the two sisters, Maryam and Rimsha.

But not all challenges had been solved.

Later that same evening, as the three of them sat in the cozy corner of the store's small office, Rimsha leaned back in her chair and sighed, "There's just one thing… I'm only nineteen. I don't really know how to run a business. What if I mess something up?"

Maryam smiled and placed a hand on her sister's shoulder. "That's why I'm with you."

"But," Rimsha continued, "we need someone who has real experience managing staff, inventory, customer relations, suppliers… I mean everything. We need someone mature."

Haroon nodded, thinking for a moment. "You're right. And I've been thinking the same. I believe the best option we have is Imran."

Rimsha's eyes widened slightly. "But… Imran bhai? What about Khadija? She's only two years old. And ever since Alishba bhabhi passed away, he's been raising her all alone. He's already juggling so much."

Haroon looked thoughtful but confident. "I think he'll manage. He's stronger than he looks. And he needs this too—something to focus on, something steady."

Maryam agreed, "You're right. This might even help him. He'll be around us, around people who care."

Haroon took out his phone and dialed Imran's number. The phone rang twice before Imran picked up.

"Assalamualaikum, bhai!" Haroon said cheerfully.

"Walaikum assalam, Haroon! Sab khairiyat?" came the calm voice of Imran from the other side.

"Sab theek, bhai. Actually, we were all just talking about you…"

"Oh? Kya baat kar rahe thay meri?"

Haroon laughed. "We want to offer you something. A chance to become the official Manager of Amana Superstore."

There was a pause on the line. Then a quiet reply, "Main…?"

"Yes," Haroon continued, "You're the only one we trust for this. You're responsible, experienced, and you have the heart for it."

Imran sighed gently, "Lekin Khadija?"

Rimsha, sitting beside Haroon, took the phone from his hand and spoke up. "Bhai, we'll all help. Maryam aapi, Haroon bhai, and I—we're all here for you. Plus, there's a small room at the back of the store. You can use that as an office and even bring Khadija when needed."

Imran's voice cracked slightly. "I… I'm grateful. Let me think for a moment."

The silence that followed felt long, but in truth it was only a few seconds.

Then came the answer.

"Okay. Main tayar hoon. Let's do this."

Cheers broke out in the room as Haroon high-fived Rimsha and Maryam clapped with joy.

Everything was finally falling into place.

The store had owners.

The store now had a manager.

And a new chapter of Amana Superstore was just about to begin.
