Chapter 144 - Chapter 143: Onto Kamar Taj

After three months of training, both Captain America and Natasha Romanoff had become proficient enough with chakra control to walk on walls and trees as well as use chakra augmentation that would enhance their blows.

The training had taken place mostly in the Kamui dimension where there were no distractions for them and with Kakashi bringing them their food and water.

They practiced for hours every day. Cap learned to channel chakra to his feet so he could run straight up vertical surfaces without slipping. He was quite amazed by tha fact that just a little understanding of a some energy that every human hand since time memorial could result in such an ability.

With this he had realised something important. Cap had thought with a sight 'Humans decided to make external serums to enhance human potential but they never realised that the power already lied inside them.'

Natasha mastered the same skills even faster. She could climb trees in seconds and balance perfectly on thin branches. Chakra augmentation came next. They learned to push chakra into their muscles and fists.

A punch from Cap now carried enough force to bend steel bars. Natasha's strikes could shatter concrete blocks. Of course, they could not match Hulk blow for blow.

That would take Tsunade-level chakra control and augmentation. But their new power made them much more lethal in close combat. A single well-placed punch could now drop a trained soldier instantly.

Natasha went a step further. She was more talented in chakra control than Cap. She had asked Kakashi how he infused chakra into his weapons.

Since it was only normal chakra, Natasha did not need to learn nature transformation for it. Kakashi had shown her the basic method. She practiced every day until she could do it without thinking. Now she could enhance her bullets with chakra. The results were terrifying.

The bullets moved faster than normal rounds. They had much more piercing power. They could punch through thick metal plates. Even Kakashi shivered when he saw the test results.

Those things were deadly even to him if he was caught off guard. One enhanced bullet had left a clean hole through three layers of steel.

Kakashi knew that it was time to leave for their mission to the other universe.

'While the Ancient One has said we have time before the Incursion truly began, I do not want to risk it.' Kakashi thought as he waited for the team to gather for the mission.

'Time is never certain. The future could shift. The barriers could weaken faster than anyone expected. The person breaking them might discover a shortcut. They might find a way to speed up the process. I had seen too many plans fail because someone waited too long.' he thought

Two years sounded safe. But two years could become two months. Or two weeks. Or two days. He refused to gamble with the safety of an entire universe. Every day counted. Every hour mattered. He would rather act early and be wrong than wait and be too late.

There was no guarantee that they would easily find the culprit who was doing it. The other Earth could be huge. The person might hide in a remote place.

They might use advanced technology or magic to stay hidden. They might have followers. They might have traps. Searching an entire planet could take years. The team would need to gather clues. They would need to investigate leads. They would need to move carefully. They could not afford mistakes. One wrong step could alert the enemy. One delay could let the barriers weaken further.

Kakashi felt the pressure building inside him. He had to be smart. He had to be fast. He had to be ready for anything.

He had assembled the ones who would go for the mission in the now-completed Avengers Tower. The building looked almost new again. Tony had rebuilt it quickly. The name had changed. Stark Tower was gone. Avengers Tower stood in its place.

Kakashi had also told Fury and the other Avengers that they were going on an "off-world mission." That was true enough. They did not need to know the full truth yet.

The others would worry. They would ask too many questions.

Kakashi knew that if things went wrong, Pakkun would be able to inform Fury where they were actually and what their actual mission was.

"Are you all ready?" Kakashi asked.

Cap stood with his shield on his arm. He nodded firmly. Natasha stood beside him. She wore her full tactical suit. Guns at her hips. Electric batons on her back. She looked calm and focused. Banner stood in normal clothes. He looked nervous but determined. Tony wore a new iron man armor. It looked sleeker than before. Darker. And certainly more advanced.

Tony asked, "Jarvis… are you active in the suit?"

"Yes sir," Jarvis replied through the helmet speakers.

"Good," Tony said with a smile. "Now Jarvis can work inside my Iron Man suit even in the other reality."

Kakashi looked at the team. "We have everything we need?"

Tony nodded. "The suit has backup power cores stored in it if needed arise," Jarvis added.

Kakashi turned to the group. "We are going to Kamar-Taj. The place of sorcerers. Like I said before, the Ancient One will be the one facilitating our travel to and from the other reality."

Bruce looked uncertain. "Can we trust her?"

Kakashi answered without hesitation. "She has no reason to lie. Besides, she really has been protecting Earth from magical threats for centuries now."

Tony snorted. "An immortal old magical lady. I do not think she would find herself a husband with those three words describing her."

Kakashi ignored the joke. He teleported everyone using Kamui as everyone held hands. They reappeared in the courtyard of Kamar-Taj.

The place looked peaceful. Monks in orange robes moved through training drills. Some held glowing orange weapons. Rings of energy spun around their hands.

Others created shields of light. A few levitated small stones in slow circles.

Cap stared at a monk who was meditating while levitating. "That is… impressive."

Tony looked around with wide eyes and before he could say anything a portal opened in front of them.

Orange sparks formed a circle. The Ancient One stepped through. She wore her usual robes. Her face was calm. She looked at each person.

"Welcome to Kamar-Taj," she said. "Mr. Rogers, Mr. Stark, Miss Romanoff, Mr. Banner, and of course, Kakashi."

Her voice held a little more familiarity when she said Kakashi's name. The team noticed it. They exchanged quick glances.
