General Okoye said pointing her spear at the transformed Avengers, "There is no way you would have survived against Kakashi Hatake. You were sent after him knowing that you would fail completely but we would have had a glimpse of his abilities and how he would react to an attack."
Her voice was sharp and full of certainty. She kept the tip of her vibranium spear aimed steadily at the group. The other Dora Milaje followed her lead without hesitation.
Okoye continued with clear logic that left little room for doubt. "It is either he let you go alive with mercy but in that case you should have swallowed your poison pills to avoid getting tracked back to Wakanda. Or you are not the ones that we sent on the mission. And through what I have seen during the meeting, I am leaning towards the second thing."
As the spears pointed at them, Kakashi realised that the jig was up. The careful disguise had lasted long enough to reach the council, but Okoye's sharp mind had seen through it. He transformed back to himself and so did the others.
Kakashi raised his hands slowly to show he meant no immediate harm. "Well you got us." His voice was calm and almost amused. He did not try to deny the truth any longer.
The guards immediately surrounded the king and elders to protect them. No one would reach the throne without going through the Dora Milaje first. The elders stayed seated but their faces showed shock and caution. King T'Chaka remained still on his throne, watching the four outsiders with sharp eyes.
T'Challa's body was covered in some kind of suit. Kakashi thought, 'The armor appeared around him in an instant. Tony was right that their technology level would be very advanced with so much of vibranium for so many years.'
"Why are you here?" T'Chaka asked after a long silence.
"We are here to reassure you that the Avengers will not interfere with your country or reveal its existence to others. We were formed to protect the world which includes Wakanda. You do not have to fear us and send assassins after us." Kakashi spoke with careful honesty.
T'Chaka said, "Yet you came here disguised as our warriors and I presume our warriors have died by your hands."
"They died trying to kill me. I thought of them as other enemies of me. I did not know that they were from Wakanda. This could have been rectified if instead of sending assassins after us you could have sent a diplomat." Kakashi answered with the same calm tone.
T'Challa asked,"And why would we trust you? You now know the value of our country and could easily give away thís information to the Security Council and even SHIELD."
Kakashi lowered his hands just a little and spoke,"You have no choice but to trust us.".
Before anyone could answer, Kakashi called upon the full strength of his Mangekyo Sharingan. A massive skeletal form of blue chakra began to rise around him. Ribs of pure energy formed first, then arms, and finally a warrior shaped armor that towered over everyone in the room.
The Susanoo stood complete in only a few seconds, its presence pressing down on the council chamber like a heavy weight. The Dora Milaje tightened their grips on their spears, but their hands continue to tremble at the sight.
"You cannot afford to fight us anyway," Kakashi continued while the Susanoo remained in place. The Susanoo was not a threat of immediate attack. It was a demonstration that the cost of refusing talk would be higher than any of them wished to pay. Kakashi kept the technique active only long enough for the point to settle into every mind in the room, then slowly let the blue chakra fade back into nothing.
As the last traces of the Susanoo disappeared, Kakashi felt a quiet unease inside his own thoughts. 'I have started to gain the arrogance of an Uchiha using threats like this. I will continue to blame this on Obito and his mangekyou Sharingan though.'
Then Kakashi offered a new path forward for the Avengers and Wakanda. "Since you will not trust us anyway keeping your secrets, we will welcome someone of your country into the Avengers."
"We have always survived by staying hidden," one of the older council members reminded everyone. He explained that contact with the outside world had rarely ended well for smaller nations.
The Avengers might claim good intentions now, but governments and other powers would eventually learn of Wakanda through them. The elder insisted that trust had to be earned over many years, not given after one conversation.
T'Challa listened carefully before speaking to his father. "They have Captain America, baba. You yourself told about Captain America in your stories, about his actions and how he was an honourable man. Let us just ask him."
He spoke in English so that the other Avengers could understand clearly. "Would you give your word as Captain America that Avengers would keep our secret?"
Captain replied with a steady voice. "You have my word as Captain America. I will protect Wakanda's secret with the same honor I have always tried to live by. No one will learn of this place through me or through the team if I can help it."
The council then turned to the question of who should be sent to the Avengers if the offer was accepted.
One elder suggested a trusted member of the Dora Milaje. "A warrior of the Dora Milaje would serve well. She could protect Wakanda's interests and report back truthfully." The idea received some nods of agreement. A skilled fighter who already understood duty and secrecy seemed a safe choice.
T'Challa stepped forward and spoke with quiet determination. "I should go. I am the Black Panther after all and my skills would be best suited for the Avengers." The prince offered himself without hesitation.
The room filled with immediate disagreement. "You cannot send the heir and future king into the unknown dangers of the outside world," one elder said firmly. He argued that the prince's life was too important for the future of Wakanda. Losing T'Challa would leave the nation without its next ruler.
"The Black Panther belongs here to protect the people and the throne," another elder added.
Okoye herself voiced strong concern. "My prince, your place is at your father's side. The Dora Milaje can handle any mission that requires skill and courage. There is no need to risk the future of the throne."
T'Challa stood his ground and pleaded with his father. "Baba, I think it is time to open up with the rest of the world even if a little. I can also act as a diplomat for Wakanda. Please, I think it is time for Wakanda to grow further rather than live isolated. We would regress if we do not keep with the world."
The king was silent for a long moment. Then he made his decision. "Fine." His single word carried the full weight of royal authority. The elders immediately tried to disagree.
One began to speak of the dangers again, but the king raised his hand and silenced them with a look. "I have heard your concerns. My decision is made. My son will go."
The room quieted under the force of the king's will. No elder dared to continue the argument once the throne had spoken so clearly.
King T'Chaka looked at Kakashi with steady eyes. "Take care of my son." He repeated the same words in English so that the rest of the Avengers could hear and understand.
