Bella Green understood what Margaret White meant and couldn't help but laugh.
With a slightly raised eyebrow, she looked at him with a half-smile, saying nothing.
Margaret waited for a long time but never heard Bella Green speak; instead, she kept looking at him with that kind of gaze, leaving Margaret unsure of how to respond.
Laura White was beside him, watching her third brother, and her fair, little face turned black instantly.
"Third brother!" Laura exclaimed in frustration.
Margaret looked at Laura and smiled while holding her in his arms.
"Lola, be good. Since Miss Green saved you, it's only right she receives a reward, and Miss Green must surely be happy to accept."
Margaret didn't even look at Bella Green, speaking instead to Laura in his arms.
Bella Green laughed at his words but said nothing, choosing instead to walk over to a chair and sit down by herself.
