"My daughter is not the type to cause trouble!" Edward White stated with certainty.
Sophie Wilson understood that Edward White was implying she was deliberately stirring up trouble.
"Your daughter came to me, saying she wanted to tell me a big secret about Mr. Seymour. She wanted me to reconsider whether I should stay with Mr. Seymour after hearing this big secret," Sophie explained.
"And when I got here, this big secret turned out to be about the child Mr. Seymour and I have together, and she insisted the child wasn't biologically ours." Sophie sneered, raising an eyebrow, and asked, "With her saying things like that in front of my child, who else should I hit?"
"If her words have planted any kind of shadow in my son's heart, I won't forgive her!"
Sophie's words made Mrs. White retort through gritted teeth, "Just because you say something, that makes it true? Why would my daughter go looking for you?"
