Lor glanced briefly at the wall separating the rooms. He had very personal, very loud evidence over many nights that the master bedroom was most definitely not soundproof.
He kept his mouth shut.
Mira continued cheerfully, completely oblivious.
"And if it gets too late, you are both welcome to stay the night. No point walking home at this hour with what's been happening in town lately. There's been a killer about." She lowered her voice dramatically for a moment, then immediately brightened again.
"Lor is a sweet, innocent child, but if you're at all uncomfortable sharing his room I can easily send him downstairs to the couch. You girls can have his room to yourselves."
She meant every single word with complete sincerity.
Eva and Viora exchanged the smallest, quickest glance. A flash of something knowing passed between them.
