If the Nine Swords treat weapons like a magic staff and use them directly to cast spells, then the Curse Swordsmen channel magic onto their weapons.
For example, if both use the Fireball Technique, the Nine Swords typically swing their sword to cast the Fireball Technique directly, whereas the Curse Swordsmen concentrate the Fireball Technique on the weapon, forming a flaming magic sword that explodes upon impact.
This is somewhat similar to the Blood Fury Blade... which can also bear magic.
One wonders if there will be more changes when these two systems collide.
