Aurelia Shaw burrowed her head into the blanket, not wanting to listen; she wanted to sleep.
Mason Nightshade saw this and fell silent.
He gently patted her back with indulgence, his movements soft.
His voice softer, "I won't say anymore, sleep now, be good."

Last night, Aurelia Shaw dreamed Mason Nightshade had returned and embraced her, kissed her, but when she woke the next day, he was no longer in the room.
She asked the servants and only then found out that he had left early in the morning again.
"Why is he so busy?" Aurelia Shaw muttered to herself.
The servants showed a panicked expression and immediately bowed their heads, "The President must have matters to discuss with Major General Nightshade, all top-secret, even we servants don't know."
Aurelia Shaw was startled, the servants' reaction was too dramatic, their attitude towards her was too formal, making her somewhat uncomfortable.
