The moment they stepped out of the condo building, Jayvaughn wasted no time. The urgency of the situation left no room for hesitation as he headed straight for the underground garage with Axel following closely behind him.
Instead of choosing one of his usual save vehicles, Jayvaughn unlocked a sleek black sports car. Speed mattered more than anything else right now.
Axel immediately slipped into the passenger seat while Jayvaughn got behind the wheel.
The engine roared to life, and within seconds the car shot out of the garage, racing through the city streets toward the KS Base.
Neither of them spoke for the first few minutes.
Axel quietly glanced at Jayvaughn. Although the soldier's eyes never left the road, the tight grip he had on the steering wheel gave away everything he was trying to hide.
His shoulders were tense, and the seriousness on his face made it obvious that countless thoughts were running through his mind.
This operation carried too much weight.
