Amir opened his eyes and smiled. "We're taking off, Mando!"

As the ship powered up, the communicator on his left wrist buzzed to life.

He tapped it to answer and shouted, "Don't hang up—look up at the sky!"

At that moment, the Voyager had already successfully traced the origin of the signal.

Rango and Chewbacca were huddled together. Upon hearing Amir's call, they looked up and scanned the sky.

Suddenly, Chewbacca jumped up and patted Rango on the shoulder.

"Rrroooaaargh!!"

At the edge of their vision, a speck-sized ship was quickly growing larger.

"Wolf! Han! Kieran! Over there!" Rango shouted, pointing into the distance.

He hadn't expected Amir to already be on the planet.

But just then, three TIE fighters whooshed overhead, their laser cannons firing directly at the distant ship.

Everyone tensed up.

"Ready?" Amir yelled.

A muffled voice came through the helmet in his comms: "Always!"

Amir flew the Voyager straight at the TIEs. Under his skilled hands, the ship twisted and rolled, dodging every single shot.

"Nice flying," the Mandalorian said.

Then, from behind a ridge out of the TIEs' view, a gleaming silver ship—the Razor Crest—burst into the sky. Two heavy laser blasts struck the side of one TIE, just as planned.

Its weak defenses crumpled. The fighter exploded into a fireball, spiraled out, and crashed hard into the yellow earth, sliding dozens of meters.

The remaining two TIEs quickly changed direction and split, each veering to a different altitude.

"Northeast—three more incoming," the Mandalorian reported.

Amir turned his head and spotted three more TIEs flying in from afar.

Still calm, he pulled the Voyager upward, engines at full throttle, and locked onto the tail of one of the fighters.

He slammed the fire button. The laser clipped the TIE's thrusters, causing it to shake violently and descend in a forced landing.

Meanwhile, the Mandalorian had already engaged another fighter.

Amir spun the Voyager around and raced toward Rango's signal.

He needed to hurry—pick them up before the Empire's reinforcements arrived. After that, escape would be all that mattered.

Avoiding combat was crucial. Here, Imperial backup was endless. If they got bogged down, they were as good as dead.

But the Mandalorian was getting too close to the incoming fighters. He had to pull away.

Even the best piloting meant little under the crosshairs of four TIEs and six laser cannons.

Mando launched a pair of torpedoes ahead, then immediately turned sharply to avoid the return fire, darting toward the horizon.

Amir was nearing Rango's position. He now had them on radar, a cluster of signals below.

"There's so many of them?!" Amir exclaimed.

At that number, boarding would take at least ten seconds. And staying still for even that long meant becoming the Empire's next easy target.

Rango answered through the comms, "They're Gurina's people—we found them."

"I can't stay grounded that long!" Amir shouted.

"Three more incoming—Amir, what are you doing?!" Mando yelled, dodging two pursuing TIEs. The other two and the new trio were closing in on Amir.

There was no time to hesitate, even knowing the risk.

Amir landed the Voyager on the clearing where Rango and the others were. Just the descent alone took five seconds—TIEs were already almost on top of him.

He diverted 70% of the ship's power to the deflector shields.

The ramp lowered. Almost instantly, two laser blasts fired at the ship—one scorched the hull, the other obliterated a hilltop.

"Get on—NOW!" Amir yelled.

Below, people ducked as rocks rained down, but survival instincts kicked in. Nearly twenty individuals rushed aboard in under ten seconds.

Thank the stars for the wide cargo ramp—freighter doors were never small.

"We're on!!!" Rango shouted as he jumped aboard last.

"Hang on tight!" Above them, TIEs looped around and aligned themselves for another round.

"Rango—get to the gun turret!" The Voyager's turrets had remained unmanned—Amir had only ever used the forward-facing lasers.

Now, he could fire in all directions.

As the ship lifted off, red lights flickered inside—the shields were buckling under the strain.

Then a young man stepped into the cockpit.

"I'm Han Solo. I'm a damn good pilot. I can be your co-pilot."

Even amid the chaos, Amir turned his head for a second.

"Damn, a pretty boy!"

He whipped back around and barked, "Strap in!"

He was overwhelmed—an extra set of hands was a blessing.

"Got it." Han dropped into the co-pilot seat. After a brief glance at the controls, he began operating them with practiced ease.

The ship instantly became more agile. After lift-off, not a single laser hit the Voyager.

Instead, now with the bottom turret active, Rango's return fire slowed the TIE pursuit considerably.

"Mando! We're outta here!" Amir yelled.

"Copy that." The Razor Crest climbed, soaring toward the upper atmosphere, firing two torpedoes behind to block the TIEs' pursuit path.

"Nice ride you've got here!" Han took over the munitions system and launched two seismic charges.

A massive tremor shattered the mountain slopes behind them, sending clouds of debris into the air, blinding the TIEs.

"Boosting thrust—we're going up!" Amir gripped the control stick tight.

"On it." Han's fingers danced across dozens of switches. Each move set off a cascade of systems, making sure everything stayed running.

Suddenly, the Voyager burst forward with tremendous speed, breaking free of pursuit and heading for the edge of the atmosphere.

"Nice work!" Amir praised. Having a solid co-pilot really did make a difference.

"Of course," Han smirked. "Told you—I'm a hell of a pilot."

Soon, they pierced through the atmosphere. Through the viewport, a massive Star Destroyer loomed ahead.

Amir veered off, steering the Voyager toward the Razor Crest, away from the destroyer.

Mando had also shaken his tail, but then said, "Amir—I think I just saw something."

Amir squinted at the view ahead. It was the planet where Greta had been.

And from behind the curve of the world, a familiar cruiser was just starting to emerge.
