Chapter 130 - Chapter 131: The Resistance Gathers

Deep inside the ruins, Amir placed all nine crystals from his bag into the empty recesses. A pillar rose from the center of the room once again.

"What is this?" Amir stared at the alloy sphere embedded within the pillar. The sphere was partially hollowed out, and through the gaps, a faint blue glow leaked out.

"I've never seen it either," Obi-Wan said as he studied it. "Maybe some kind of ancient energy aggregate?"

Through the Force, Amir could feel a powerful, distinctive energy inside it. He didn't know what it was, but it had to be something valuable—after all, a similar ruin had yielded something as dangerous as a Sith holocron.

And as a device meant for energy storage, it had been sitting here for centuries—maybe longer—yet the reaction inside was still this strong. Using it as a power source for certain machines or weapons could produce remarkable results.

Carrying the sphere, Amir and Obi-Wan headed back out.

It was almost time to depart when a ship slowly emerged from the fog.

Amir's eyes lit up immediately. He'd never seen this ship in person, but it was unmistakably familiar.

"The Millennium Falcon!"

So Han Solo had already gotten his hands on the legendary ship from Lando Calrissian.

The ship set down, and Han stepped out wearing a broad grin. Behind him came many blond Gudrians. The little witch, Guli'gena, was among them—so they'd clearly gone out to the tribes beyond.

Lango came out last, looking weak. One arm was wrapped in bandages, and Chewbacca was supporting him at the side.

"Amir!" Han looked delighted when he saw him. "Look at me! I told you it was right to help me. Now I've got credits, connections, and a ship this good."

"So you can pay me back?" Amir stepped forward and patted his shoulder. To get this far in such a short time really wasn't easy. Han Solo had his own unique methods and charm—he knew how to operate in the galaxy's underworld.

"Uh… not much cash right now," Han said, then pointed at the Millennium Falcon behind him. "But you see this? It won't take long before I do."

"Fine." Amir hadn't lent him that much anyway—he could let Han dodge for now. Besides, once there was a job that needed doing, Han wouldn't have room to refuse.

Han was clearly riding high, so Amir didn't bring up Han's girlfriend. Qi'ra should have taken over Crimson Dawn by now—becoming the public face at the top.

After that, Amir walked over to Lango.

"How'd you get hurt this badly?" Amir asked.

Seeing Amir, Lango finally smiled. "During a ship raid, we accidentally damaged the gravity system. Got a little bumpy."

A little bumpy? That kind of "bumpy" would rattle bones apart.

"You did good. The fact those people got saved—that's on you. Go get treated," Amir said, handing Lango off to Chewbacca so they could find a medbay.

"How are the children doing, Guli'gena?"

The little witch beamed and stepped closer. "Their emotions are stable. Your method worked really well. They've even started helping with base logistics."

"Good," Amir said, glancing at the children scattered around the base. Their state really was much better. They weren't as wary and tense as they'd been when they first arrived.

"After you leave, my people and I will take responsibility for caring for them."

So the Gudrians who arrived aboard the Millennium Falcon were here to help look after the children. Thankfully, the children had been settled on this planet, with trustworthy tribes to support them—anywhere else, caring for so many kids properly would have been extremely difficult.

"Good thing we have you…"

"No need to say it," Guli'gena replied. "It's what we should do. Without you, our people—and the children—would still be slaves somewhere we can't even name."

"I'm heading out. Won't get in the way of what you've got planned next," Han said, making a circuit and returning.

"You came all the way here—won't you help?" Amir asked.

"Mm… no. You're visibly broke. I don't see profit in this run," Han said bluntly.

Amir really wanted to hit him.

Obi-Wan walked over, looking thoughtful.

"What are you thinking, Master?" Amir asked. He could more or less guess.

"Nothing…" Obi-Wan said, unable to commit.

"You want to rebuild the Jedi Order?" Amir asked with a grin. "There are so many Force-sensitives here. They could be your first students."

Obi-Wan hesitated, then said, "Times are too difficult right now. If we're discovered, we can't withstand the Empire's hunt."

It was obvious he did have the desire—he was just weighed down by caution. Just like Amir had discussed with Ahsoka before: they didn't want to force their hopes and burdens onto these children, making them face danger.

But if some of the children chose this path willingly, they wouldn't refuse to train them as Jedi.

Amir told Obi-Wan his own thoughts.

"That's best," Obi-Wan said, relief softening his smile. "We really can't impose our responsibility on them again. We should respect their wishes. If we're lucky… we'll all have new apprentices."

"Teaching is still on you. Don't look at me. I'm just a young apprentice," Amir said, eyeing Obi-Wan warily.

"Oh—my feeling is you'll graduate very soon."

"Huh?!" Amir looked utterly baffled. I haven't learned anything yet. No. Absolutely not.

"After this operation, I'll give you special training. I'll teach you everything I know. With your learning ability, you don't need things spoon-fed slowly."

"That… I can accept," Amir nodded. Even if there were many forms and much knowledge he hadn't truly mastered, he could memorize first and grind it into skill afterward.

Teaching slowly out of fear of biting off more than you can chew didn't suit Amir.

"Alright. Time to go!" Pax walked over and handed Amir a set of coordinates. "I'll be going with you. We'll head straight to the target world, wait at the bottom of the experimental base, and once Ahsoka's group is in position, we move."

"Perfect!" Amir was genuinely happy to hear Pax would be with them. With a top-tier babysitter along, the safety margin skyrocketed.

So Amir called everyone to board: Obi-Wan, No. 32, shove Millisyn back; Mando, BD-4, shove Millisyn back; shove Millisyn back again—finally, once Pax was aboard, Amir climbed in last.

"You said 'next time for sure'!" Millisyn called after him from outside, furious and unwilling to accept it.

"Sure, sure. Next time," Amir said.
